There will be a Back To School Mass on tomorrow, 8/9 at 2:30 pm. Meet The Teacher will be in the classrooms for/at Primero (Pre-K3-2nd) from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm and for/at Segundo (3rd-8th) from

4:00-5 p.m.

Supplies may be dropped off at respective campus classrooms at Meet the Teacher.

Please join us on Friday, August 14 for SMMS Reflect & Connect, our Back-to-School kickoff for all SMMS families. We look forward to welcoming both new and returning families as we prepare for another wonderful school year together.

The evening will begin at 5:00 p.m. on our Primero Campus with our Used Uniform Sale in the Primero Library. Families will have the opportunity to shop gently used uniforms and a limited selection of new Brainpower shirts before the main event begins.

At 6:00 p.m., we will gather in Jubilee Hall for SMMS Reflect & Connect. During the evening, families will hear from Fr. Will, MAC, representatives from the Capital Campaign, as well as myself. There will also be an opportunity to connect with Athletics, CYO, school organizations, and other members of our school community.

Childcare will be available beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the gym for children ages 3 and older. For a $10 per child fee, children will be supervised by SMMS staff and receive pizza and a drink, hosted by our 8th grade class. We are pleased to offer this option so that parents can fully engage in the evening's events.

We encourage all families to attend as we begin the school year together. It is a wonderful opportunity to connect, prepare, and learn about the many opportunities awaiting our students and families this year.

Acknowledgement: By receiving this newsletter, I acknowledge that my child(ren) may be transported between Primero and Segundo for Mass and other all-school events, as well as morning and after school transportation (if applicable) and sports practices or events (if applicable).

There will be weekly mass on Wednesdays at 8:30 am at Primero for Pre-K3-2nd Grade. There will also be a weekly mass at Segundo on Thursdays at 2:00 pm for 3rd - 8th Grade (please note that, as we are still unsure about space constraints, the first mass will be staff and student only).

Masses will begin the second week of school.

Parents may come in on the first day of school to drop off their children at their classroom.

There will be an extended arrival time: until 8:30 at the main campus, and until 8:45 at Segundo.

Arrival and dismissal will mostly be the same as last year.

Reminder: Segundo (St. John's) Morning Care will not begin until 7:30. Therefore, all Segundo students arriving before 7:30 am should arrive at Primero, and from there they will be shuttled to Segundo.

For SMMS @ ST. JOHN'S (SEGUNDO)

Arrival

• Students may be dropped off at SMMS @ St. John's beginning at 7:30 am.
• At 8:00 am, the SMMS @ St. John's gates will be closed for those being dropped off in their family vehicles. If you arrive after this point, please park in the courtyard parking lot between the Church and the portables and walk your child to the main office.
• Students taking the morning shuttle from SMMS Main to SMMS @ St. John's arriving 7:30-8:00 should enter through the main doors on Clower St. (so parents should park in the Clower St. lot).
• The morning shuttles will begin at 7:30 and the last shuttle will leave SMMS Main at 8:00 am.
• Families that arrive to drop their child off for shuttle service after 8:00 am will be asked to take their child to SMMS @ St. John's.
• The instructional day will begin at 8:30 am at SMMS @ St. John's.

Dismissal

• The dismissal process will be from 3:30 - 3:45. Please do not arrive before 3:30.
• Staff will help load students into their respective vehicles.
• The first shuttle back to SMMS Main will leave SMMS @ St. John's around 3:30. Parents should be in place by 3:35 in the Jubilee Hall parking lot to receive their children coming off the bus.
• The second and last shuttle to SMMS Main will leave SMMS @ St. John's at 4:40.
• There will be After School Care (ASC) at SMMS @ St. John's until 6 pm. Parents picking up their children between 3:50 and 6:00 pm should park in the main parking lot (between the Church and portables), and walk to the cafeteria doors to pick up their child.

For WHOLE SCHOOL MASS CELEBRATIONS Only

• Please note that all students should be dropped off at SMMS Main Campus on Whole School Mass Celebration Wednesday mornings.
• Students in 3rd - 8th Grade should be dropped off at the Jubilee Hall Carport.
• All students should arrive by 8:00 am.
• Please note that the SMMS @ St. John's campus will be closed until 11 am on Whole School Mass Celebration Wednesday.
• Students will have classes after mass, before heading back to SMMS @ St. John's after 11 am.
• The dismissal process on Wednesdays will be the same as the other day of the week.
• Please note that ALL SMMS @ St. John's students will take the shuttle on Wednesdays back to SMMS @ St. John's after mass and classes.

FOR SMMS MAIN CAMPUS

Arrival

• Morning care will be from 7:00 am to 7:30 am. Families using morning care should use the Jubilee Hall carport as the drop off point.
• All those not using morning care should park in the Clower St. parking lot and enter through the main school doors between 7:30 am and 8:00 am.

Dismissal

• The first shuttle to SMMS @ St. John's campus will leave SMMS Main Campus at 3:10, arriving at St. John's at 3:25.
• The next shuttle is from SMMS @ St. John's to SMMS Main, arriving at Main around 3:45.
• The next to last shuttle is from Main to St. John's, arriving at St. John's after 4:00.
• The last shuttle is from St. John's, where it will leave at 4:30 to take students in after school clubs and other activities, to SMMS Main, arriving at Main around 4:45.
