Principal Coe's Comments
October is National Bullying Prevention Month. At New Century Middle School, we are deeply committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students. As part of our ongoing efforts to be an anti-bullying school, we will be hosting various activities throughout the month to promote kindness, respect, and unity.
- Monday, October 7th - Bully Prevention Day where we will promote kindness towards one another. We ask students and staff to wear blue!
- October 14th - October 18th - Centurion Anti Bullying Spirit Week (see flyer below). Although there will be no school for students on October 14th- we will kick off that week with a daily anti-bullying focus.
- October 30th - we will have a pep rally to not only cheer our teams but to also commit to cheer on each other!

Infinite Campus Updates
- Currently, 70% of our parents are connected to their parent portal accounts. We need 100% of our parents to be connected to help monitor grades, attendance, and important information. If you have not connected with parent portal and need help, please scan the QR code.
- We will send information on paying fees through Infinite Campus shortly.
Clubs and Tutoring:
Clubs and Tutoring are going strong!
Remember, clubs will not meet on Wednesday, September 25th due to our faculty meeting.
Immunizations:
Students who do not have update to date immunizations on file by Friday, September 27th will no longer be allowed to come to school until the immunizations are current. This is a state mandate. Any questions, please contact Nurse Janna Lewis.
Order your yearbook!
We encourage you to order your child's yearbook early! We will order very few extras so make plans to order your yearbook today!
Centurion Athletics
We have 13 sports at New Century, which run over a span of 4 seasons:
Fall (August-October) Cross Country, Cheerleading, Tennis, Softball, Golf, and Football (only 7th and 8th graders can play football)
Winter (October-December) Volleyball and Boys Soccer
Early Spring (January-February) Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Wrestling
Late Spring (March-May) Girls Soccer and Baseball
Parents of Centurion Athletes - we need your help! Each athlete’s family member should sign up to work the concession stand just once to help support Centurion Athletics. 100% of the profits made during the concession stand goes to our Athletic Boosters who are huge supporters of our athletic programs! Without the booster support, it would be difficult to meet some of the needs of our 13 sports teams. Sign up for a concession stand spot using this link.

Car Line Helpful Hints:
Arrival:
The front of the building is the car rider drop off for all students. We will open our doors at 7:30 am. Please do not drop off students prior to 7:30 am as there is no staff on duty prior to 7:30 and follow the traffic pattern.
- Helpful hint: Students may exit their vehicle all along the front sidewalk and walk to the entrance door closest to the cafeteria.
- The inside lane is for teacher only traffic until 7:30. Please do not drive on the inside lane prior to 7:30 so that our teachers can get to their parking spot.
Dismissal:
6th graders and their siblings - Bus Lot
Families with a student in the 6th grade (along with their siblings) will be picked up in the bus parking lot area.
Cars will follow the map below and follow the traffic pattern.
Pay particular attention to the staff and signage so that we can have buses smoothly exit the parking lot as well.
Students will be picked up on the far right side of the lane.
We anticipate that by splitting up the car line, we should be done around 3:20. Any student still in the bus lot area after 3:20 will join the car riders in the main lot.
7th and 8th Graders and students who ride in a carpool - Front of Building Pick Up
- Families with students in the 7th or 8th grade and any student who rides in a carpool will be picked up in the front of the school.
- We will stagger our release of students for safety reasons so please be patient.
Students must be picked up at the conclusion of the car line. There is no staff on duty after the car line has concluded. Prepare for your child to be picked up in a timely manner.
