BE EPICER @ CTE
At Cherokee Trail we focus on six traits, teaching and fostering them in our classrooms and school-wide in order to create learners who are strong academically and socially.
They are:
ENTHUSIASM * PERSEVERANCE * INTEGRITY * COURAGE * EMPATHY * RESPECT
Read more on the EPICER page!
In FEBRUARY we will be focusing on the EPICER trait of EMPATHY / KINDNESS:
* I actively listen to others to understand their feelings and the situation
* I can put myself in someone elseβs shoes
* I notice clues about how others are feeling: their words and body language
* I celebrate how I am the same and how I am different from others
* I consider other people's feelings/wants/needs when I act

THE PRINCIPAL CHRONICLES
The Principal Chronicles continue ...
As I write this, it is early Tuesday morning and we just came back from a long weekend. We barely survived Valentine's Day but had a pretty good professional development day on Friday. We spent the morning at Eagle Ridge Elementary which is the exact same model as Cherokee Trail only backwards. It was a little strange to be walking around that building with literally everything backwards but we had a good time and learned quite a bit.
On the home front, not much happened this weekend so I don't really have a good story to share. I am off to Arizona this week to recruit teachers for our school District. I'm actually not sure which place is going to be warmer, here or AZ. Either way, I love recruiting so I am looking forward to finding some great teachers for our district.
That is it for this weeks episode, stay tuned for next week when the Principal Chronicles continues...
