Susan B. Anthony School News

Hello SBA Families! December has arrived! We have three and a half weeks of learning before Winter Break. Our students and staff will continue to work hard towards our goals. You can help at home too! Earlier this week you received an email about our School Improvement Plan goals and activities you can do with your children to help them progress towards proficiency in Math and Writing. We appreciate your partnership at home, and we are thankful you share your child(ren) with us each day.

As I mentioned, Winter Break will be here soon! There will be no school from Dec. 24th - Jan. 4th. School will resume on Monday, Jan. 5th. *Please note that there IS school on Monday, Dec. 22nd and Tuesday, Dec. 23rd. We will have a 12:45P.M. Dismissal on Tuesday, Dec. 23rd.*

We have a few other fun activities in December with our Mystery Reader Night this Friday night (Dec. 5th). You have been receiving an email each night this week with a video of the day's Mystery Reader and a link to vote. We hope you can join us on Friday from 6:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M. when we reveal our Mystery Readers. You will be able to enjoy some hot chocolate and a snack, and you can also bring a gently used book from home to exchange for a new book. On Tuesday, Dec. 23rd we will have our classroom Winter Parties at a time determined by your child's classroom teacher.

SFSD Remote Learning Plan

In the event that a weather event can be predicted, devices (iPad for K-1 & chromebooks for K-2) will be sent home with students. If school is then cancelled due to weather, we will have a remote learning day. Students will be expected to log on their device and go to Canvas for their lessons that day. Winter Clothing Reminder

Our weather will likely be changing soon! Just a reminder to have your child(ren) wear their coats, hats, and mittens. To play in the snow, your child will also need their snowpants and snow boots. Recess will be outside as long as the air temperature and windchill are 0 and above.
