Annual Budget Webinar Annual Budget Webinar

Dear DJUSD Community,

As DJUSD navigates declining student enrollment and rising costs, the District faces important budget challenges that will shape our priorities in the years ahead. To help our community better understand these challenges, DJUSD is establishing a predictable annual process to share information about the District’s budget, financial outlook and upcoming decisions. This outreach is intended to provide greater transparency about how our budget works, how we receive and spend funding, and the factors that influence our financial planning.

Live Community Outreach Webinar: Annual Budget Update

Please join us for a live webinar on Thursday, November 12, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. The presentation will cover how the District receives and allocates funding, current enrollment forecasts and budget projections, potential future budget reductions and the timeline for upcoming budget decisions. A limited question-and-answer period will follow the presentation. The recorded presentation and frequently asked questions will be published to our website following the live webinar.

Live Spanish, Mandarin and Korean interpretation will be available.

I encourage you to join us to learn more about DJUSD’s financial outlook and the challenges and decisions ahead. Keeping our community informed is an important part of this process, and we appreciate your continued interest in the future of our schools.

With appreciation,

Matt Best

Superintendent

Book Fair Save the Date and Call for Volunteers!

The week before Thanksgiving brings parent-teacher conferences, early dismissal, and the Scholastic Book Fair! The Fall Book Fair will run Monday through Thursday, November 16 through 19, from 12:15 to 2:30 pm. Extended hours on Wednesday, November 18 until 5:45 pm. It’s a chance to restock your library, buy books and activities for the break coming up, and encourage excitement about reading all while supporting the school!

We need volunteers to make this happen! Volunteer during the fair to experience the rush of cashiering or the joy of helping a child find the right book. Help with set-up (Thursday 11/12) and get a preview of the books. Feel the rush of productivity by helping take down the fair on the morning of Friday November 20. Well-behaved children are welcome to help if their grown-ups are on campus (teacher or volunteer at the Fair). PTA profits from the book fair go to support library purchases as well as other PTA funding programs at Willett.
