Each month, on our Blue Friday, our elementary students will be introduced to a Book of the Month. The students in PS-5th grade were read to by Mrs Smith, and our 5th grade students helped them complete a postcard of a place they would like to visit.

A student was drawn to receive a copy of this months book, and our winner was Hayes Mauro!

This month the book was, "Oh the Places You'll Go", by Dr. Suess.

Biology Pond Trip Biology Pond Trip

Yesterday, Mr. Schoenecker's 10th-grade Biology class took their studies outside with a visit to the local pond. This field trip was part of their lesson on ecosystems, where they explored the balance between living (biotic) and non-living (abiotic) factors.

Students independently observed the pond, noting various organisms and environmental features. They then compared their findings in small groups and discussed how these factors interact to sustain the ecosystem. The class wrapped up by drawing visual representations of the pond, reinforcing their understanding of the complex relationships within the environment.

The hands-on experience deepened students' appreciation for the natural world, making the lesson both educational and memorable.

Mr. Schoenecker’s class is excited to continue their exploration of biology with more hands-on activities in the coming weeks.
