IMPACTing our School for Success - Every Person, Every Day
A message from Mrs. Holloman, Principal🍎
Dear IVES Families,
It has been an incredible honor to serve as principal of this amazing school and to partner with you, our wonderful IVES community. Thank you for the trust, support, and encouragement you have shown our entire staff since the day we opened our doors 7 years ago.
Just last night at our School Accountability Meeting, several parents shared thoughtful insights and valuable ideas. Your voices matter, and I am so grateful for the partnership we have built together. We know we are a district of choice, and we are truly honored that you choose to send your children to Inspiration View Elementary School.
May is always an exciting and emotional time of year. Another tug on my heart is that this will be my last continuation season to celebrate with our students and families. Our Kindergarten students are more than ready for 1st grade, and our 5th graders are prepared to walk through the doors of middle school with confidence. Just yesterday, I had the chance to teach for a bit in a 5th grade classroom, and I was reminded once again how amazing our students are. They are thoughtful, capable, and absolutely on their way to changing our world in wonderful ways.
Please read this newsletter carefully for all continuation dates, times, seating information, and other important end-of-year events. We wish we had a huge auditorium to seat everyone, but we must follow district safety guidelines regarding crowd capacity. Thank you in advance for your understanding and flexibility.
Many families have reached out regarding teacher requests for next year. While we always do our best to consider family input, we are not always able to honor specific teacher requests due to possible staffing changes and the need to thoughtfully balance classrooms based on student needs. If you would like to submit a request, please also include the qualities in a teacher that would best support your child’s learning and success rather than requesting a specific name.
We will have one more newsletter in June to launch everyone for the summer and provide back to school information.
Thank you again for giving me the privilege of serving our incredible Inspiration View students, staff, and families. I have learned so much from all of you!
With gratitude
Pam

Continuation Information 🎓
Kindergarten and 5th grade Continuation Information
Kindergarten and Fifth grade continuations will take place on May 21st. These will be held in the Gallery. Kindergarten will be held from 9:10-10:00am. Fifth Grade will be held from 1:30-3:00pm.
Seating
Due to limited space in the Gallery, only immediate family (2 members) may attend. Young children may sit on their parent’s lap. Siblings that attend IVES in other grades are encouraged to remain in their homeroom class instead of attending the continuation.
Below are some important details:
Doors Open
To allow for our wonderful maintenance team to prepare the gallery with chairs, we will let families into the building at the following times. Kindergarten will be allowed in at 9:00am. Fifth grade families will be allowed in at 1:30pm. Thank you!
Balloons
We are a latex free school due to student allergies. Please refrain from bringing any latex balloons.
Dismissal
If you would like to pre-arrange to check your child out early (directly after the attended continuation), please send an email to Nicole Prewett (nicole.prewett@d49.org) so that we may add your child’s name to the pre-arranged check out list. Family members who choose this option, please remain in the Gallery afterwards and we will call your student down.
To ensure all students are accounted for after the continuation ceremony, ALL students will be walked back to their classrooms by their teacher. Those on the prearranged check out list will be called down and those staying for the remainder of the day will stay with their classroom teacher and be dismissed as usual at the end of the day.
If you are not on the pre-arranged check out list, but decide at the event to check your student out early, we will direct you to the front office to check out with Nicole Prewett, please have your Government Issued Identification ready. Thank you.
We are so excited to see you at this event!
Updates from the Health Room 🩺
As we look to next year (26-27), we wanted to ensure that you have information from the Health Room regarding immunizations. This letters below include important information about Colorado's school vaccine requirements. Colorado law requires students who attend to be vaccinated or obtain a Certificate of Exemption. This is just for your information, there is nothing you need to do at this time. Additionally, please see the Flu Information below.

Helpful Information for the Year đź““
Cell Phone Policy:
In accordance with district policy, cell phones and other personal communication devices (to include smart watches) should be kept in students' backpacks and turned off during the school day. These devices should not be used during school hours unless specifically authorized by a teacher for educational purposes. This helps reduce distractions and supports a positive classroom environment.
Please review the Power Zone and Inspiration View Elementary's Cell Phone Policy
Dress Code:
We ask that families help ensure students come to school dressed appropriately. Clothing should be school-appropriate, comfortable for learning and play, and in line with the district dress code. This includes items such as shorts and tank tops, which should provide adequate coverage and support a respectful school atmosphere.
Important Traffic Support Needed
Safety is our first concern. Please follow the signage for right turn only out of the parking lot. We have had several near misses recently and need to ensure the safety of all. Thank you for following the posted signage.
Please do not use the dirt lot to the west of the school as this property is not a parking lot and creates safety concerns when exiting onto Vista Del Pico. Please use the street for parking, the kiss and go lane, or the Inspiration View Elementary parking lot. Thank you!
Attendance:
If your student has an appointment, please be sure to send in a physician's note to the front office so that we can properly code the excused absence in the system. Examples might include, doctor, dentist, etc.).
Should your student be absent, parents must report this absence to the front office with a phone call (719-495-5302) or an email (nicole.prewett@d49.org). Nicole is our Attendance Secretary and is the person who can assist with the call. If you do not report your student's absence, it will be marked as unexcused. Unexcused absences are tracked and reported to D49 truancy. If you have any questions about reporting absences or truancy, please reach out to Jessica Cole (719-495-5307).
