The Riverwalk Roar

A Note from Dr. Compton
Happy Sunday, Pride!
First, I’d like to give Ms. Flynn a shout-out for her newsletter message last week. She received a great response to her feedback request, so thank you to everyone who took the time to respond. I hope each of you survived losing that hour of sleep last night!
In addition to today being the start of Daylight Saving Time, today is also International Women’s Day.
At Riverwalk Academy, we are fortunate to be surrounded by extraordinary women who shape the lives of our students every day. From the classroom to the front office, from athletics to leadership, the dedication, compassion, and professionalism of the women in our community are central to the success of our school.
We see this leadership in our principals and administrators who guide our school with vision and care, in our amazing teachers who inspire curiosity, nurture confidence, and help every child reach their full potential, in our staff members who keep our campus running smoothly, and in our students who demonstrate courage, determination, and creativity as they prepare for their futures.
International Women’s Day is also a moment to reflect on the countless women, past and present, whose contributions have shaped education, science, the arts, public service, and every field that moves our world forward. Their example reminds us that leadership is not defined by title alone, but by the impact we have on others.
At Riverwalk, we are proud to nurture a culture where every student, girls and boys alike, learns the importance of respect, opportunity, and the belief that their voice matters.
To the women of Riverwalk Academy and throughout our community: thank you for the difference you make every day. We celebrate you today and every day.
In Pride & Purpose,
~Dr. Compton
Photo of the Week
9th grade student Emma Commander stepped into to shadow Ms. Wilson during her Thursday PE classes as part of a passion project she is doing centered around helping others, and specifically, her desire for teaching younger students. We love incorporating these intentional interactions between our two campuses. It's a huge part of what makes our school community and PBL so special.

Dear Families,
Welcome to a new week! As we approach the end of the nine weeks, we encourage you to take a few moments to review your child’s grades and check in with them about any missing assignments or upcoming deadlines. Your partnership and support at home make a tremendous difference in helping our students stay focused, finish strong, and be successful.
