JUNGMAN VOLUNTEEROPPORTUNITIES 2024-2025

Jungman Volunteer Processes

Dear parents/guardians:

In an effort to increase family engagement and involvement, we will continually share upcoming volunteer opportunities through the family bulletin.

To volunteer to support, parents/guardians must be CPS-Approved volunteers. Below, please find the application to become a CPS-approved volunteer. For the most part, parents need to be Level 2 volunteers to support the opportunities that will be in this update. Information about the CPS Process for volunteering can be found HERE.

Book Fair Volunteer

Book Fair

Ms. Vahey does a wonderful job organizing and presenting our Book Fair! Through our Book Fairs, we are able to provide thousands of dollars back to the school to update our classroom libraries!

We are looking for parents that could support the book fair starting October 28th!

From October 28th-November 1st we need parents to host classroom visits to the bookfair where students will get the chance to preview the fair and make their wish list! This helps generate a lot of interest. When we have offered this in the past, we have also had an increase in sales!

Our goal this year is for every classroom to generate at least $300.00 in sales! This will get us to 50% of the profit in Scholastic Dollars!

This fundraising goes right back to your child's classroom library!

Build an Offrenda

Create and Build an Offrenda on 18th Street

Our community has celebrated Dia de los Muertos by having each classroom create and offrenda. This year, especially as our Pilsen community will be celebrating this day with a community walk on 18th street, we would like to make a larger display in our playlot facing 18th street. Jungman can supply everything needed, we need about 6-8 parents to help organize the table, tiers, table cloths, artifacts, photos, etc.

Deck the Halls

Deck the Halls!

That's right! We are thinking ahead! The week before Thanksgiving Break we are looking for about 5-8 parents to help Deck our Halls with Holiday lights, put up our trees and gift wrap some doors/lockers. We will not light anything until we come back from our fall break.
Holiday Giving

Holiday Giving

We are so fortnuate to have a company sponsor our students for some Holiday Cheer! We need about 5 parents to help with this project. It would require you to come on Monday, Dec. 16th to help us receive and organize the gifts (usually around 2:00 pm-4:00 pm). THen on Dec. 18th, we need parents to help us pass out the gifts to our students from 2:45-4:00.

Movie Day in the Gym

On November 22nd, we're looking for 2-3 parents per room to assist with supervising students during a school-wide movie. Responsibilities may include escorting students to the restroom and sitting with small groups during the film. With ample staff present in the gym, your support will allow our staff to take turns to enjoy a special lunch break together.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

Sometimes other volunteer opportunities arise such as the need for an extra chaperone, recess aid, additional school office support for things like picture day, someone that can help put up some bulletin board, or set up cases. If you are interested in other opportunities, please fill out this form and if something comes up, we will reach out.

This form will gauge your availability and willingness so when these things arise, we know we can reach out to you.
