Superintendent'sLetter Friday, May 6, 2022

Dear Staff Members, Parents, Students, and Community Members,

We are looking forward to celebrating end-of-year milestone events such as step-up days and graduation in person. Our staff and students are doing an incredible job of navigating through this school year. We are in the home stretch!

2022-2025 Three Year Strategic Plan Community Forum

We are in the process of drafting the next three-year strategic plan. The draft plan is based on feedback from the strategic plan survey and equity surveys that were administered over the last year. The three main areas of the draft plan are:

1) Culture of Belonging

2) Equitable Educational Experiences

3) District Facilities, Technology, Business, and Communication

Please join us on Wednesday, May 25th at 5:30 pm in the LMS cafeteria to participate in round-table discussions about the draft strategic plan. We will be providing pizza, salad, and beverages. To make sure we order enough food/beverages please sign-up here by Friday, May 20th.

The draft strategic plan will be sent to you in advance of the meeting.

5. Promotes healthy lifestyles and builds lifelong bonds and friendships

MLS & HSS/LHS Renovation Projects Update

We are working with the architect and construction manager to finalize the design plan for the MLS renovation project. Nationally, there are challenges with supply and demand for both subcontractors and materials such as steel. Our goal is to keep this project moving forward and begin construction this summer. The architect completed several walk-throughs of HSS/LHS and is finalizing the design concept. The HSS/LHS project will be bid next year to start construction in Summer 2023.

In closing, thank you for your continued support of our schools. I look forward to seeing you at our end-of-year events. Have a great weekend!

Dr. Joanne Roberts
