Panther Weekly
November 10 - November 16
We would like to welcome you to take a look back at 50 years of Parkview!
This year we are excited to celebrate Parkview's 50th Anniversary. Over the school year, you may notice our clubs, athletics and activities all finding a way to join in the celebration. They may have alumni at their games, guest conductors at their concerts or 50th themed events.
In this section we will feature images and facts about Parkview's first 50 years!
Parkview's MCJROTC Celebrates the United States Marine Corps 250th Birthday
Honoring Tradition: MCJROTC Celebrates the 250th Birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps
November marks a significant milestone, as it is the 250th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps! To commemorate this historic occasion, Parkview’s MCJROTC cadets will host their annual Marine Corps Ball on Saturday, November 15, in the Parkview High School cafeteria. This year’s celebration will be especially memorable, as Gwinnett County’s Chief of Police, Chief McClure, will join us as the Guest of Honor.
Parkview’s MCJROTC program, established in 1995, is proudly celebrating its 30th year of excellence and service. The program continues to instill leadership, discipline, and civic responsibility in our students.
Spotlight on Excellence
A special congratulations goes to Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Candace Elkins, our Battalion Commander, who has been selected to receive the Legion of Valor Bronze Medal Award. She is one of only two recipients in Region 5 (covering approximately seven states) and among just 100 honorees nationwide. This prestigious award is recognized across military and veteran communities for its significance and honor. We are incredibly proud of Cadet Elkins.
Boys Swim takes 1st
Congratulations to the swim and dive team on a great meet against Mill Creek.
The boys won while the girls lost a very close meet.
Individual event winners included:Tadd Duffield - Kate Breiding - Alan Nguyen - Emily Hardy - Cameron Jones - Austin Carroll - Amelia Deckers

Parkview's Cross Country Heads to State
We have some exciting news from our cross country program! A huge congratulations to the varsity men’s and women’s teams for qualifying to compete in the State Championships after their strong performances at Sectionals on Saturday at Allatoona Creek Park in Acworth!
Also, shout-out to our top 20 finishers — Mo Elbeiti, who placed 11th, and Caroline Bold, who finished 12th — incredible performances!
The State Championships will take place THIS Saturday, November 8th, at Carrollton High School. Way to go, Panther runners — we’re so proud of you!
Panthers at Porsche!
Parkview German students visited the Porsche Experience Center near their Atlanta headquarters. They learned more about job opportunities with Porsche and the history of this iconic German car company. Students also watched test track experiences with professional drivers, as well as visiting the Simulation Lab, where they tested their reaction times just like professional race car drivers and the Porsche Center driving instructors!

Attendance Office Reminders
Excuse Note Reminders
Parents, we appreciate your patience as the county shifts how excuse notes are turned in this year. We have just a few quick tips to make this process continue to be successful.
You must fill in one of the two sections:
- Add a doctor's note or document
- Write in your excuse in the "Note" box.
- Excuse notes can't be reported until 24 hours after the absence.
Student Check-ins/Checkouts:
Students arriving late must enter through the main front entrance. They should check in using the tablets and go directly to class.
All checkouts* must happen before 1:30 PM. No exceptions. This allows us to prepare for dismissal, thank you for your support.
If you know ahead of time your student needs to leave early, you may do the following:
Send a written note with student in the morning. Note must be received by the Attendance Office before 7:15 AM.
The note must include: Student’s first and last name, date and time of checkout, and parent phone number.
The attendance clerk will provide a pass to the student to leave at the designated time without the parent needing to come inside. The students can then checkout at the Attendance Office and meet their parents/guardian outside at the time listed.
Attendance clerks will verify all notes before releasing students. If they cannot reach a parent, the student will not be allowed to check out.
We encourage families to regularly check student attendance in ParentVue.
*Please remember, there are no checkouts during testing blocks
