Principal's Message
Bucyrus Middle School Families,
With winter upon us, the second semester is in full swing in February. Students are continuing to grow and achieve at a high level in the classroom and on the court. As the winter athletic season winds down, it is important to stress grades and eligibility for our students that are competing in extracurricular activities and those who plan on competing in the spring.
With the third grading period under way, students have received their second semester schedules and are actively participating in these classes. Looking towards the future, February begins planning for next year and students will begin to receive information regarding scheduling for the 2026-2027 school year. As these materials are made available, please be sure to review them with your student as there will be new course offerings aligned with Career Connected Learning.
In support of our students reaching their potential in the classroom for the end of the second grading period, we are awarding students with locker decorations to recognize the hard work that so many have put forth. These decorations include Highest Honors, High Honors, Honors, and new this year is the RED Award. The RED award (Raising Expectations Daily), is for students who have shown improvement in the classroom by raising a class grade by one or more letters from the first to second quarter. Thank you to our Middle School Counselor, Ms. Lauren Wetzel for the design of these awards.
As always, we thank you for your continued partnership with our school, our students and our community. GO RED!
Mr. Blackstone
