Lesher Bike Week is Coming!
Biking Vikings Announcements!
Lesher Bike Club is starting up, Mondays in May
Do you love bikes!? Do you want to love bikes!? Do you want to learn about bikes!? Join us after school until 3:30 in Mr. Mayerβs room on Mondays starting April 6th for our first ever LESHER BIKE CLUB. We are going to organize a group of students who are interested in bikes and see where we go from there (like a bike, we can take this wherever we want). We can organize group rides, learn bike maintenance skills, tour bike companies, help promote biking with others at Lesher, bike in movies, learn to unicycle, and more! Whether you are a pro or just learning to ride, we would love to have you! Click here or reach out to Mr. Mayer if you have any questions.
βBike Busβ routes to / from Lesher on Fridays in April and May - more information coming!
Join a parent led BIKE ROUTE to and / or from Lesher on Fridays, starting April 10th. Like a bus route, Bike Buses will travel along pre-determined bike-friendly routes to / from Lesher and meet students at specific bike stops at approximate times along the way. Anyone can join β Lesher students and / or parents. After school, volunteer parents will gather students on their bike route and bike along the same route they took to school but in reverse. We will have routes established and posted on the YourGroupRide website next week β stay tuned and check this newsletter next week for finalized routes!
Volunteer parents will have the option to attend a bike safety training led by Safe Routes to School. You can expect parents to have phones to contact families if any issues arise beyond their control. NOTE: This is put on by volunteer parents (not PSD led).
Click here for more information. If you are interested in leading a bike route, let Mr. Mayer know and he can plug you in with the group (bmayer@psdschools.org).

PSD Engagement Norms
In an effort to foster a culture of mutual respect, effective communication, and quality customer service, PSD has created a set of norms for staff, family/guardian, and community engagement. These norms aim to set a positive tone for interactions between staff and parents and community members, whether they happen in person, over the phone, or in writing.
The norms will be posted in all PSD schools and include expectations that:
- Calls or emails that are not emergencies will be acknowledged within three school days.
- Appointments between the parties involved will be established as a norm for addressing concerns or discussing important matters through direct communication.
- Appointments will take place as soon as reasonably possible. Adequate time is needed for preparation and research before an appointment.
- Communication will focus on collaboration and understanding β respectful language and non-confrontational behavior from all parties are expected.
- Boundaries between personal and professional life will be maintained, and sensitive matters will not be addressed in community settings.
Itβs important for everyone in our schools and in our communities to feel welcome and engage in mutual respect to best serve students.
