The Power of Us: Collaboration in Action
November is a time to reflect on what we’re thankful for—and at BEVA, we’re especially grateful for the families who show up, stay connected, and partner with us in their child’s learning.
This month, our focus is collaboration. Students, families, and teachers each bring something important to the team. When we share ideas, ask questions, celebrate progress, and work through challenges together, students are better supported and more prepared to succeed.
We’re quickly approaching the 15-week mark, and the next two months will go by fast. This is a good time to check in with your student about their goals, assignments, and progress. Please continue to make your weekly PIP meeting a priority. These conversations give you and your child’s teacher time to recognize what’s going well, talk through questions, and decide what support may help next. If something is making it hard for your student to stay on track, please let us know so we can work on it together.
We also want to hear from you: How can BEVA do better for your family? Your feedback helps us understand what’s working, where we can improve, and how we can make our school community stronger. Please share your thoughts with your child’s teacher or reach out to me.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we hope your family finds time to rest, reconnect, and enjoy one another. Thank you for being part of BEVA and for helping our students become the CEOs of themselves—setting goals, taking ownership, asking for help, and following through. When we collaborate, each student has a stronger team behind them.
With gratitude,
Mr. Tolj

IXL Personalized Practice!
Is your student working on IXL? Now is the time we have students working on their personalized plans in IXL. These plans will help students work to fill in gaps or push them further to the next level! Our goal is every student, every week. Each student needs to complete 2 math and 2 ELA lessons in IXL with a smart score of 80. This will help us grow and find more success as students. Thank you for your support in making sure your child is working on the lessons each week!
Attendance, ROA Dates, and Grading Windows
Independent study students receive their attendance for submitting their work on time! Please help ensure that your child is completing assignments and submitting them by the due date to be given attendance credit. Record of Assignments (ROAs) are created every two weeks and show your child what must be completed to earn their attendance credit. Please note that assignments must be quality work for credit. Your help is crucial for the success of your student. Please follow up at your weekly check in with your child's teacher.
Earn Attendance by Completing Assignments on Time!
Help Your Child Stay on Track with ROA Assignments
We need your partnership to help your child earn full attendance credit each week! In our Virtual Academy, attendance credit is tied to completing all assignments, in every subject, by their due dates.
Here's what's important to know:
- Every subject counts. To earn attendance credit, all assignments across all subjects need to be finished on time.
- Late work ≠ attendance credit. While late assignments can still be submitted for a grade, attendance credit cannot be recovered once the deadline passes.
Please take a few minutes to check in with your child regularly and confirm that all assignments have been completed and submitted. Your support at home makes a real difference in keeping your child on track!
Thank you for all you do to help your child succeed. 💙

This Month: ELPAC Results & IRAP Meetings/Este Mes: Resultados de ELPAC y Reuniones IRAP
🦃 Happy November! 🦃
This month, we will continue with a focus on Interim ELPAC Writing results and our Individual Reclassification Acceleration Plan (IRAP) meetings.
Due to the rescheduling of the Interim ELPAC to October 26th - 30th, the IRAP meetings were also pushed back.
During your IRAP meeting, I will share your child’s results and work with you and your student to identify the support and next steps they need to be successful. Please be sure to attend this important meeting! Look for an email from me to schedule your meeting, or I may connect with you during one of your PIP meetings.
I look forward to partnering with you and supporting your child’s success! 💙

🦃 ¡Feliz noviembre! 🦃
The Testing Connection
🎉 Celebrating Student Growth!
Thank you, BEVA families, for supporting your students throughout IAB/FIAB testing! These assessments provide valuable insights into your child’s strengths and areas for growth, helping teachers plan meaningful instruction and support academic success.
📊 What’s Next?
We encourage you to connect with your child’s teacher to discuss the results, celebrate progress, and learn how you can continue supporting learning at home.
💙💛 Together, we can help every BEVA student learn, grow, and succeed!
