π± MARCHing away from the deep freeze π±
We are hopeful that temperatures are on the rise and longer days of sunlight will brighten our days! As we move into the spring season, weβd like to remind families of the importance of monitoring device use at home. Setting parental controls to shut down devices at a certain time can help limit overnight technology use and support healthy routines. Many children benefit from βshutting downβ screens at least one hour before bedtime, allowing their brains and bodies time to wind down and prepare for essential sleep. Well-rested students are better able to focus, regulate emotions, and engage in learning throughout the school day.
Recess-Ready
As temperatures rise above freezing, outdoor recess will occur so students can enjoy fresh air and release energy in a healthy way. Please be sure to send your child to school prepared for outdoor recess each day by dressing them in weather-appropriate clothing, including a jacket and comfortable shoes. Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep recess safe, active, and enjoyable for all students.
Portrait of a Cedar: Leader
This month, we're excited to focus on the character trait of being a "Leader." Across our school community, we will continue building a culture of trust and compassion while empowering all stakeholders to grow and succeed. Students will explore what it means to be a leader, including recognizing when to step forward and when it is just as important to follow.
Connect
We encourage you to stay connected with your child's classroom through SeeSaw. If you encounter any difficulties reaching your child's teacher, please don't hesitate to contact the Northwest Office. Our Northwest team is committed to fostering community connections and will keep you informed about all the exciting events happening at school.

Digital Citizenship
As part of our PBIS expectations, we encourage students to be safe, respectful, and responsible both at school and online. Even at the elementary level, children may encounter social media, videos, and/or online games, making digital citizenship an important family conversation.
Families can support positive online behavior by:
π» Being Safe: Use privacy settings, parental controls, and remind children not to share personal information.
π¬ Being Respectful: Talk about using kind words online and treating others the way they want to be treated.
β° Being Responsible: Set clear screen-time limits and keep devices in shared family spaces.
π£οΈ Speaking Up: Encourage children to tell a trusted adult if something online makes them feel uncomfortable or unsure.
When students practice expectations online, they build lifelong habits that support learning, safety, and positive relationships.
π€ School Based Counseling π€
We are still accepting referrals for School Based Counseling. Any student you feel would benefit, please complete a referral by clicking the image and completing the form.
