Message from the Principal Message from the Principal

Dear Nativity Families,

We have enjoyed a lovely week of learning, cooler temperatures, and, of course, some much-needed rain that makes it truly feel like fall! When former staff members and students return to campus, they often share how much they miss the special feeling of Nativity—the peaceful atmosphere, the beautiful greenery, and, most importantly, the sense of love and faith that fills our school community. The recent rain has left our campus fresh and glistening, adding to the beauty of the space we are blessed to share. As I stepped into classrooms this week, I was proud to see our students actively engaged in learning, supporting one another, and living out the Catholic virtues we reinforce each day. Our teachers continue to plan dynamic lessons that challenge our students, spark their curiosity, and inspire them to grow. It is a joy to see our mission in action, and I am always proud to share the wonderful things happening at The Nativity School!

Get ready for Wellness Week Oct. 26-30! Beginning Monday, October 26, we will focus on the wellness of our students’ minds, bodies, and spirits. Each day will feature a special theme, so please review the schedule below for our spirit dress days and the many activities planned throughout the week. A special reminder for students participating in our Pumpkin Decorating Contest: all entries must be dropped off in the HFAC at 8:00am sharp on Monday. Judging will take place later that day, and winners will be announced during Friday’s Halloween Parade. We cannot wait to see the creativity and imagination our students bring to this fun tradition!

There is plenty more happening next week, so please take a moment to review the schedule and announcements below. You will not see me on campus Monday or Tuesday, as I will be attending a Partners in Mission conference with our Business Manager, Edg. We look forward to learning and sharing best practices in advancement and stewardship of our school’s resources so that we can continue to strengthen Nativity and ensure its long-term sustainability. I am grateful to Mrs. Maria for leading Monday’s assembly in my absence.

Please also pay special attention to the announcements regarding our annual Jog-a-Thon on Friday, November 20! We are excited to raise funds to support our athletics programming and physical education.. Thank you in advance for supporting this important fundraiser and for spreading the word to family and friends who may wish to sponsor your students as they challenge themselves to complete as many laps as possible. Your generosity and partnership make a meaningful difference in the opportunities we can provide for our Stars. Thank you to the Blay family for all of the work behind the scenes in preparing to launch this event.

As we head into the weekend, I am reminded how blessed we are to be part of a community where faith, learning, and service come together each day. May we continue to recognize the gifts God has placed around us and in one another, and may we carry that spirit of gratitude into the week ahead.

Have a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to seeing many of you at Monday’s assembly, hosted by our TK class.

Warmly,

Brittany Bateman

Get Ready for Nativity's Turkey Trot Jog-a-Thon!
This year’s Jog-a-Thon has a festive twist. On Friday, November 20, students will run laps around the track while classmates, teachers, and families cheer them on. Every dollar raised supports Nativity's Athletics and PE program. Our school goal is $30,000.

Watch your inbox today, Friday, October 23rd. Each family will get an email from info@nativitymail.org with the subject “Set up your family’s Jog-a-Thon pages.” It takes about five minutes:

  1. Click the link in the email.
  2. Sign in, using a password or your Google account.
  3. Set a goal for each child. We suggest $250
  4. Share your child's page with family and friends by text, email, or social media.

Students can earn prizes like a Spirit Wear Pass, Tardy Turkey Pardon, Free Dress Pass, and Chick-fil-A. Plus, there are two class challenges!

Don’t see the email? Check your spam or promotions folder (info@nativitymail.org).

Volunteers needed! Help the day of the Jog-a-thon with course support, water station, set-up, and/or clean-up. Sign up here: https://app.thenativityschool.org/e/jog-a-thon-2026/volunteer

Faith in Action Faith in Action

Virtue: Patience - endurance of suffering or bearing difficulties (especially those caused by others) without resentment or sadness.

As we continue to focus on the virtue of Patience, we consider how the seeds of faith planted by missionaries around the world are carefully tended and grow into abundant harvests over the years. Last week, the Church celebrated the 100th World Mission Sunday. We also honor the recently canonized Fulton J. Sheen and the feast day of St. Pope John Paul II (Oct. 22), both staunch lovers of the missions and advocates of the most vulnerable worldwide. We encourage you to help your students focus on missions by doing the “Hearts Around the World” activity below as a family. Also, be sure to check out important information on the Ofrenda experience your students will be invited to contribute to during upcoming Hallowtide.

SCHOOL VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

Thank you to those who have both completed and started the process to fulfill the requirements for volunteering. We couldn't do all the wonderful things we do for your children without the contribution of your time and talents.

Many of you completed your Live Scan, but there is still more to do. The CMG training(s) need to be completed online before your Live Scan can be added to your training record to complete your certification with the Diocese. The Mandated Reporter Training must be completed as well.

Please click HERE for the links to the volunteer requirements for The Nativity School.
