Hello Bulldog Families.

Our BHS students have been busy this week with everything from senior pictures, link crew activities, career lunch and learns and field trips, and serving as host for the county-wide Future Forward conference. All of this was happening while dodging the rain showers, while much needed, which adjusted after school athletic schedules a bit.

All students and families received an email on Wednesday that details some information about the homecoming dance. It’s also linked into the “Please Take Note of the Following” section below. As a quick reminder, students must be eligible and have school fees paid before attending the homecoming dance. All guests, outside of Batavia High School, must have approved guest forms on file. (All of this is in the attached document.) We are looking forward to a fun week of homecoming celebrations!

BHS students will be participating in the Prevention First Survey, which is a county-wide survey that provides information to schools about teens’ substance use, gambling, and other lifestyle habits and behaviors. This survey is anonymous, and the information is used to help schools make sure they are responsive to the needs of the students in their schools. Here is a link to the website for your review: Prevention First Survey Website. BHS students will be taking this survey on Tuesday, October 21st. If you DO NOT wish for your student to participate, please notify Mr. Buis at buis_m@bataviaschools.org.

As a reminder, our first quarter ends in two weeks. Please encourage your student to check their grades and make sure any missing work is completed.

We hope you have a fantastic weekend!

In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello Families,

I had the opportunity to attend the girls’ volleyball games this past Tuesday vs Clinton Massie for teacher appreciation night. A huge thank you to Coach Smith and her staff for the recognition. Also, thank you to the players for recognizing some of their teachers.

As daylight continues to shorten during this time of year, please make sure our student drivers are arriving safely each morning. Remind them to be aware of our resource officers and school personnel that help at each of the crossings.

Thank you, and have a nice weekend.

Joe Moorehead, Dean of Students

The FAFSA Application opens October 1!!!!

  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!

  • The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.

  • For additional assistance with FAFSA completion, please visit itsforyou.org, and look under the “Looking for FAFSA Help?” section for more information
