Brooker Creek Elementary Newsletter - September 14, 2026
Principal's Message
Dear Brooker Creek Families,
The teachers and staff are incredibly proud of the academic success our students have demonstrated so far this school year. As we continue through the first quarter, I encourage all families to talk with their children about their results from the first FAST assessment of the year, as well as their mid-term progress reports.
In the coming weeks, teachers will begin working with students to develop academic action plans that include meaningful and attainable goals for the school year. These goals will help students understand their strengths, identify areas for growth, and take an active role in their academic success.
By working together as students, families, and staff, we can ensure that every child has a highly successful, rewarding, and exciting school experience at Brooker Creek Elementary. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work to ensure that Every Bobcat Counts!

9-25-26 Mrs. Livingston Appreciation Day
Brooker Creek Elementary is proud to congratulate Mrs. Shannon Livingston on being selected as the 2026 Pinellas County Elementary Art Teacher of the Year!
Mrs. Livingston was selected for the significant and lasting positive impact she has made not only at Brooker Creek Elementary, but throughout Pinellas County. Through her creativity, passion, and visionary leadership, she has helped transform our campus into a celebration of student art and school pride.
Some of her most impressive projects include a student-led Bobcat mosaic, a breathtaking 15' x 40' painted butterfly mural, beautiful campus mosaics covering our stairways, and a massive Brooker Creek Nature Preserve mural that welcomes families along our parent car line.
Mrs. Livingston’s dedication to inspiring students through the arts is evident throughout our campus and in the countless students whose creativity she has encouraged and nurtured.
Please join us in congratulating one of Brooker Creek’s most loved and respected teachers on this outstanding and well-deserved recognition! To honor her accomplishment Brooker Creek has designated September 25, 2026, as Mrs. Livingston Appreciation Day.
Congratulations, Mrs. Livingston — BCE is incredibly proud of you!
BCE Student of the Month
Congratulations to Grace Prillhart, our BCE East Lake Sunrise September Student of the Month! Grace’s caring heart shows kindness to all. She quietly jumps in without any teacher direction to assist a peer with clarification on directions or steps to set up a notebook, not for the praise or a “thank you”, just because that’s who she is, a very thoughtful person! Grace is self-driven, very conscientious and takes ownership for her learning. Grace is a member of the National Elementary Honor Society and serves BCE as a Safety Patrol. Outside of school, Grace enjoys cheering for the East Lake Eagles for her 3rd year in a row. Being a member of this competitive team has brought out leadership qualities in Grace. In fact, her EL Mighty Mites team took 3rd place in North Carolina at Pop Warner Nationals last year! Grace has also played softball for the East Lake Eagles for the past three years and is looking forward to another great season this spring!
So, as you can see, this sparkling Bobcat represents Brooker Creek and our R.O.A.R.S. characteristics quite well. As her mother shared with me, “Grace truly owns her name!” I believe so many of the adults and friends who encounter Grace see this and would agree “Congratulations on being the September Rotary Student of the Month” is quite deserved!
Thank you to our Wonderful Grandparents
Thank you to all of the grandparents and families who participated in our PTA Grandparents Breakfast today! It was wonderful to see the excitement and smiles on the faces of our students as they shared this special morning with their grandparents and loved ones.
A huge thank you to all of our grandparents for taking the time to join us and for making the day so memorable for our students. Your presence truly made their day extra special, and we are grateful for the important role you play in the lives of our Bobcats!

Help Needed in Labeling Student Items
Parents, we need your help in ensuring that your child’s personal belongings are properly labeled for school. Please include your child’s name inside lunch boxes, on the bottom of water bottles, and inside jackets, sweaters, and other personal items.
Clearly labeling belongings helps our staff quickly identify and return lost items to your child.
Thank you in advance for your assistance and cooperation in helping us keep our Bobcats’ belongings safe and accounted for!
