Bothwell Buzz
July 26, 2026
Dear Bothwell Families,
Our Porch Visits were once again one of the highlights of the summer! We had an incredible time getting to know our newest Bobcats, reconnecting with returning students, meeting new family members, and strengthening relationships across our Bothwell community. Just as special was the opportunity for our staff to spend time together, building connections as we prepare for another amazing school year. If you missed it, check out the pictures on Bothwell's Facebook Page.
We are so thankful for the opportunity to visit with so many of our families. Thank you for welcoming us onto your front porch, taking time out of your busy summer evenings, and sharing your excitement and positive energy for Bothwell. Your warmth and enthusiasm remind us why we love what we do.
The countdown is on! We can't wait to welcome all of our students and staff back into the building and begin another incredible year of learning, growth, and community. It's going to be our BESt year yet!
All the BESt,
Kristen Aune
Principal

Kindergarten Parent Meeting (MakeUp Meeting from May)
We want to invite our kindergarten parents to a Kindergarten Parent Meeting on Monday, July 27, from 5:30–6:15 PM in the Bothwell Cafeteria.
If you were able to attend our Kindergarten Parent Meeting in May, there is no need to attend again. However, if you were unable to join us, we highly encourage you to come! This informative session is designed just for parents and will provide helpful tips, answer common questions, and share important information to help your child have a successful start to kindergarten.
Please note: This meeting is for parents only, so children do not need to attend.
We are incredibly excited to partner with your family and begin what we know will be an amazing kindergarten year. Thank you for trusting us with your child—we can't wait to welcome your family to Bothwell!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Pre-K Parent Meeting on July 29th
We are so excited to welcome your family to the Bothwell community! Starting Pre-K is such a special milestone, and we are honored to be part of this exciting new journey with you and your child.
To help ensure a smooth and successful start to the school year, we invite all Pre-K parents to join us for our "Preparing for a Successful Start of School Experience" parent meeting on Wednesday, July 29, from 5:30–6:15 p.m. This meeting is for parents only, allowing us to focus on important information and answer your questions without distractions.
During this session, we'll share helpful information about preparing your child for school, including potty training, self-care skills, daily routines, arrival and dismissal procedures, communication, and other tips that will help your child feel confident and ready for their first day.
This meeting is designed to provide practical guidance, answer your questions, and help set both you and your child up for a wonderful beginning to this exciting new chapter. We look forward to partnering with you and can't wait to welcome your little Bobcat to Bothwell!
Playdate on the Playground
We’re excited to invite you to our Playdate on the Playground—a fun and casual way for students and families to connect before we kick off the school year! This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to meet new friends, reunite with classmates, and begin building strong connections that will last all year long. Parents or guardians must attend with their child, as this is a family event designed to help us grow together as a Bothwell community. Kona Ice will be available for purchase, so come cool off, say hello, and help us continue building a warm, welcoming Bothwell family. We can’t wait to see you there!
School Supplies
If you did not pre-order school supplies through the EPI school supply kits that were available in May and June, we wanted to make sure you have access to this year's school supply list so you can be prepared for the start of school in August. Purchasing supplies ahead of time helps ensure your child has everything they need for a successful first day. We are excited to welcome our Bobcats back soon and can't wait to begin another incredible year of learning, growing, and making memories together!
Here are the lists for Bothwell School Supplies for 26-27.
School Supplies Update for Kindergarten and First Grade
As you prepare for the new school year and begin purchasing school supplies, we wanted to share an important update regarding headphones for our kindergarten and first grade students. Our new classroom technology requires USB-C headphones rather than the traditional headphones with a standard headphone jack.
If you purchased the pre-order school supply pack through EPI, there is nothing you need to do. EPI will provide the correct USB-C headphones in your child's supply pack. If you are purchasing school supplies on your own, please be sure to purchase headphones with a USB-C connector so your child will be ready for the first day of school.

Summer To Do List
2. Clean out the lunch boxes. You do not want a science experiment waiting for you in August. :)
3. Throw away your car tag and take-home folder. Everyone gets a shiny new set at Meet the Teacher!
4. Add to your house color collection. All students will stay in the same house—so go ahead and stock up on those matching socks, headbands, and hats.
5. Purchase school supplies. Because nothing says “I’m ready for school” like a fresh pack of pencils.
6. Celebrate the year with your child. Ask what made them laugh the most this year—you might get a surprising (and hilarious) answer.
7. Check the Bothwell Facebook page for important updates throughout the summer. Think of it as your virtual walkie-talkie to school… minus the static.
8. Read with your child. Even just a bedtime book—because nothing beats ending the day with giggles.
9. Teach your child a "grown-up" skill just for fun. Folding laundry, making pancakes, or writing a grocery list—they’ll feel 10 feet tall, and you might even get breakfast in bed (eventually).
10. Make the BESt memories! Whether it’s a beach day, a backyard picnic, or just laughing until your sides hurt—soak it all in.
