Welcome LB Williams Families!!

I am so proud of our students and staff with the amazing start we have had to the 23-24 school year. The students have been working hard and following directions already. Certainly we are all getting into our routine of being at school with expectations and learning each day. It has been great to witness the smiles, chatter, and giggles in our hallways and classrooms again. Thank you parents for supporting us in so many positive ways including a regular sleep schedule and preparing the night before for your morning routine. We see this as positive ways to set our students up for success during the school day!

It continues to be critical for students to be on-time each day to learn the skills they need to be successful in life. When students are attending classes it's like opening a treasure chest of knowledge. Classroom interactions, discussions, and activities create a dynamic learning environment that cannot be replicated elsewhere. Regular attendance improves comprehension, encourages active participation, and fosters a sense of discipline that is indispensable for lifelong learning. Please make attendance a priority this school year for your child.

You are all invited to our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)/LB Williams Family Fun Fest. This will be held on Thursday, September 7th from 4:30 to 6:30. This is a great way to get together with other LBW families at the beginning of the school year. This goes along with our anti-bully kick off this past week. We hope to see you there!

This upcoming week we will introduce our featured book the Coffee Bean We will have a week of learning more about the book Coffee Bean plus other events will be held throughout the year too. This year kids will earn BEAN cards for positive choices as we have done in the past, our students are earning LBW "Be the Bean" Leadership Cards each day that are showing their positive energy at LBW by being kind, helpful and a leader. If you hear kids talking about how they earned a "Be the Bean" leadership card which in turn means they may have been called to the office for a special prize during morning announcements.

Soon I will be starting my classroom meetings in 5th grade and will continue throughout the month with each classroom in all grade levels. Getting to know our new friends in Kindergarten and our returning students continues to be a priority for me. This gives me a chance to hear student ideas and also to remind our students how we keep all safe on the playground and throughout our entire building.

Thank you parents for sharing your amazing children with us each day. We are looking forward to another outstanding year together.

Welcome Back to School!! I have had the pleasure of meeting with all of the students! It is great to see the excitement of getting to check out library books. The library has some new changes. We have moved some books and made it easier to find just the right book. We also talked about how to take care of our library books.

*Do not write or color in the book

*Keep the book dry

*Read your book with clean hands

*Keep your book up on a safe shelf away from little siblings and dogs :)

*Always return your library book in a timely manner so that others may enjoy reading the book also.

I am looking forward to having our 5th graders in the library to help out with different jobs. They will have the opportunity to help with checking out books and being part of the Adopt a Shelf program. Be looking for more information to come home.
