Check out this month's NYCPS Family Update! This month’s letter features important information about the end of the 2025–26 school year, Summer Meals, Summer Rising, summer school, admissions updates for fall 2026, PSAL High School Summer Program, and summer reading.

As the summer approaches, follow the tips below to stay safe in the water this summer!

Our final PTA meeting of the year is tomorrow, Tuesday, June 9th, at 6PM and will be held remotely! We will be voting on next year's leadership team and need a quorum of 8+ parents in the Zoom to make the vote official. Please join us online at ms50.org/meeting.

This year we opened our first annual Nike Dunk design contest! Check out the designs and artist's statements at the link below and vote for your favorite. The winner will receive a pair with their design!

The last day for most ELTs was Friday, May 1st. ELTs that are performance or project-based will continue until their programs are complete, they are all listed below.

Hello MS 50 Families! Are you and your family living in temporary housing or will be in the next month? (For example, shelter, hotel/motel, car, abandoned building, with another family?) Please fill out the questionnaire in your preferred language. If you have already filled out the questionnaire on Operoo, no further action is required. You can either print this completed form or email it to our social worker Ms. Alex.

The MS 50 PTA Space Planning Committee invites you to sign a petition asking for more space in our building to be allocated to our MS 50 students. See the attached flyer for more information.

Parents demand safer streets for our kids

Many of our students walk independently from the train or bus, but crossing the entrance of the Williamsburg bridge means navigating through dangerous traffic. School parents and El Puente are working together to demand that the city.make things safe for our kids. Please sign our petition here! Any parents interested in volunteering at school events should fill out this interest form.

Dear Community School District 14 students, families, and staff,

You are warmly invited to join us for a fun and welcoming End-of-Year Community Celebration hosted by Community Education Council 14 and the Fantastic 14 Presidents' Council in collaboration with Community School District 14.

Date: Thursday, June 11, 2026

Time: 5:00 - 7:00 PM

Location: PS 17/ MS 577 Campus (208 North 5th Street)

This special event is a chance to come together as a community—to connect with neighbors, celebrate the school year, and enjoy an evening filled with music, games, food, and fun for all ages. (flyers with event details are attached)

While we encourage RSVPs to help with planning, an RSVP is not required for entry. All are welcome!

We encourage students, staff, and families, where possible, to wear school colors, spirit wear, or themed accessories to help make the celebration lively, joyful, and engaging for everyone.

We look forward to celebrating together and appreciate your enthusiasm and participation.

We’d love for you to join our bilingual team’s weekly open space with Ms. B and parent coordinator Edda and Parent Organizer Teresa—a time to connect, ask any questions, request resources, and build community together. This weekly Zoom meeting will take place every Tuesday at 7PM. Join at ms50.org/martes.
