Morning Devotion & Weekly Chapel
What does a typical week at CCS look like?
We start each day with morning devotion and all students participate in weekly chapel services.
At the lower school campus, PK through 6th Grade begin the day in the gym with a song of worship, a scripture devotion, and the doxology. For students in the upper school, morning singing and devotion happens between 1st and 2nd period classes each day.
Great job by our devotion volunteers this week! You knocked it out of the park!
Allie Smitsky, 1st grader (video above) was amazing!
A Look Back at the Week
40-Acre Wood
2nd graders had a great time at the 40-Acre Wood climbing, exploring, and spending time out in nature.
Toga Tuesday
Toga Tuesday, anyone? Yes, please!
Students in Mrs. Hayne's Latin classes enjoyed a fun day of class in togas as they studied.
Honor Society Inductions
On Thursday, several of our outstanding high school students were inducted into the CCS Chapter of the American Christian Honor Society. To become a member, students must demonstrate the four qualities of scholarship, service, character, and leadership.
Congratulations to these new members!
4-H County Round Up
Congratulations to our students who placed at the 4-H County Round Up. There were over 200 youth who attended the event from across the county.

Gearing Up for Commencement
Seniors received their caps and gowns on Friday and of course we have to make sure they fit! Smiles and few tears were in the building as they took a stroll through some of the teacher's classrooms.
McWayne Center Trip
Students love visiting the McWayne Center and this year's kindergarten class was no exception. The kids had a great time learning and exploring through hands-on science activities.
Score Reports
Upper school students received their PreACT and ACT score reports this week. Fantastic job by all! We have some bright students who are well on their way to being college ready and who are on track to earn some college scholarship money.
Prize Winners
Congratulations to Leann Bryant and Mrs. Harper for earning cash prizes for the poster contest from the Cullman County Soil & Water Conservation District!
Theme for the Day
Glow day, hat day, jello cups, kite making, lollipops, and butterflies... you name it, there's a day for it! Springtime is filled with fun ways to learn!
Critter Visit
The Critter Crew was back for another visit. This time, students in the upper school classes were able to learn about the habits, traits, and conservation of some of God's incredibly interesting creatures from around the area.
Geography Projects
This 7th grade project group went all-out on their assignment by going so far as to make a tourist brochure for the country they were studying.
Blood Drive
The CCS LEO Club hosted a Blood Drive on Friday. Thank you to everyone who came out to donate! It was a good turnout.
*CCS hosts one drive each semester. If you didn't get to participate this time, keep an eye on the calendar for information about our fall drive.

Benefit Night
Thursday night's Drawdown / Benefit Night was a huge success! It was a fun night of fellowship, food, and generous gifts.
Our mission partners at ONE30 were at the event to share with us about the work they are doing in Uganda. Kip and Cheryl Potter gave insight into the ministry and shared about their personal connection to CCS. By the end of the evening, sufficient funds were raised to provide the building of a well in one of the villages, as well as help with supporting the overall mission. God is good!

Mr. Yearwood has asked that CCS families and friends join in a 21-Day Prayer. He emphasized the importance of school unity and gratitude for what God has been doing and His provisions for CCS.
