ELA- Mr. Jones

We did a lot of work this week. We read three articles to gather evidence concerning our theme for our Argument Writing Unit: Schools Should Control What Students Eat. Eventually, students will use the evidence collected and make a claim concerning our theme and will write a paper stating their claim, and a counter-claim using all the evidence collected. Next week we will

have NWEA testing for reading.

This past week we began learning about parts of a cell (organelles). Next week the kids will start a cell analogy project. They will have a few days in class to work on it and it will be due Monday, January 27th.

Social Studies- Mrs. Pettid

This week we focused on the various forms of government in Ancient Greece. Students spent time on a variety of activities in class to familiarize them with the various structures and then compared those governments with the United States. On Wednesday, they created their very own Constitutions and I really enjoyed reading them. On Thursday, Mr. Pelloquin joined us for a Career Lesson.

Next week, we will begin Athens and Sparta.

After School Help

The Red Team has after-school tutoring sessions on Tuesday - Thursday afternoons until 4:15. Students can get extra help and/or work on assignments.
