BOARD COMMENTS
At the June 24 board meeting, the School Board of Directors made the following comments:
Director Anna Marie Jackson Laurence – Enjoyed the graduation ceremonies. Thought about all the hard work each student put in and the support they received from families, teachers, administrators, neighbors, etc. as she watched them cross the stage. Spectacular moment.
Director Charles Adkins – Attended some of the graduations. Incredible to get to know the students and the wonderful, bright futures they have ahead of them.
Director Roman Rewolinski – Honored to attend the graduation ceremonies including the GOAL ceremony. Kudos to the team who puts on the event. Proud to see so many young adults starting their next chapter. Congratulated to the class of 2025. Met with the Everett PTSA Council and gave them a breakdown of the legislative outcomes and a commitment to partner next year.
Director Jen Hirman – Wished everyone a happy summer. Commented that the district finished the year just as strong as it started. Congratulated the graduates. She attended the Jackson Elementary grad walk and commented on not only past students walking, but past employees came back to cheer them on, which was a reminder of how important the school culture is for students and families. She looks forward to welcoming new families next year. She ended by congratulating Dr. Saltzman on his WASA award.
President Traci Mitchell – She was most proud this year of our district while attending all the graduations. The student speakers were amazing and sometimes brought a tear to her eye. She is grateful our district has what it takes to help each student be successful. And she also congratulated Dr. Saltzman.

AGENDA
INFORMATION/DISCUSSION – GRADUATION UPDATE: CLASS OF 2025 AND PREVIEW OF SUMMER GRADUATION
Commencement ceremonies for students in the class of 2025 were held on June 12 for Sequoia High School and June 14 for Everett High School, Cascade High School, and Henry M. Jackson High School. Each high school engaged students in preparation for graduation and to ensure each senior makes necessary progress toward on-time graduation and college- and career-readiness for graduation in June or for the August 14 summer commencement ceremony. The board heard a status report on the class of 2025 with specific information about strategies and interventions to help students meet graduation requirements and how school staff are implementing emergency waivers of graduation requirements for students in this class who have demonstrated post-secondary readiness.
INFORMATION/DISCUSSION – THIRD QUARTER FINANCIAL REPORT
Monthly budget status reports for each fund were provided to the board to include the most current fiscal activity by summary accounts in state form F-198. In addition to this required document, the finance department provides more detailed information on general fund (operating fund) year-to-date expenditure and revenue activity, a projected ending fund balance, a cash at County report, and an investment summary. This information is summarized in this third quarter financial presentation, based upon the companion consent agenda item: Acceptance of the Financial Reports as of May 31, 2025.
The meeting was recessed at 5:35 p.m. for executive session and then adjourned at 6:21 p.m.
