Message from the Principal - March 28, 2024
Hello Pyle Families,
Our ST Math "March Mathness Championship" results are in.
Week 1 winners: K2, 24, 34, 84, 64, 82, and 94
Week 2 winners: K2, K3, 33, 34, 64, 65, and 85
Week 3 winners: 23, 24, 33, 34, 64, 65, and 82
Rooms 34 and 64 went UNDEFEATED for all 3 weeks.
The top 3 classes of the challenge (based on average puzzles per student)
1st Place - 64, 8,980 puzzles, 390 avg, 64 objectives- Great Work Mrs. Morton's Class!
2nd Place - 82, 8,391 puzzles, 247 avg, 58 objectives - Well Done Mr. Gaffney's Class!
3rd Place - K3, 4977 puzzles, 207avg, 49 objectives - Fabulous Job Mrs. Pedersen's Class!
Certificates will be given to weekly winners. Room 64 received a trophy certificate and will get a special party to celebrate their awesome victory.
Thank you to all families and students who worked extra hard during this competition to improve math skills and challenge our students!
Friday, March 29, is the first day of spring break so school will be closed. Students will return to campus on Monday, April 8. ST Math, Fast Forword, and other online programs are available over the break for all students to continue their learning and get ahead during the time away from campus. Consider making this part of the routine each day for a few minutes in each subject to keep your student's skills sharp.

School Store
Ernie Pyle has partnered with "School Store." We have already had many families share this information with families and friends and students have earned reading buddy prizes to encourage their love of reading. Thank you to those of you who have already used the link provided to conduct your online shopping and to those of you who have donated gift cards to our classrooms. Students can continue turning in envelopes with the code earned from sharing 10 emails to earn their reading buddy all year long. Additional prizes can be earned by using our link to begin your everyday online shopping journey. We appreciate your support!

Safety First - Ernie Pyle verkada SIGN IN SYSTEM
All BUSD schools use the Verkada sign-in system. All visitors on campus will be asked to scan their ID to sign into our visitor management system and receive a sticker complete with the visitor's name and picture to let everyone on campus know that the person has signed in and is clear to be on campus. If you need to come onto campus for any reason please be sure to have your ID with you so that you can sign into our system.
FREE on the Ernie Pyle Campus - YMCA Before School Care
The YMCA has partnered with Ernie Pyle to provide free child care before school. This program through BUSD is offered at no cost to families, at all elementary sites. This program has a capacity of 30 students per school through YMCA. Students will be provided breakfast, engage in fun games and activities, and be able to connect with friends before school. If you would like to enroll in our before-school program, please CLICK HERE and be sure to complete one Google form for each student. After you have completed the registration link, you will be contacted by the YMCA to complete any additional needed enrollment forms. At this time, we have not exceeded program capacity and still have spaces available.
