Dear Barron Families,

Thank you for partnering with us during Parent-Teacher Conference Night. We truly appreciate your time, support, and commitment to your child’s learning. Together, we continue building a culture of excellence for all our Pioneers.

As we move forward, our focus remains on high-quality learning every day. Across our campus, teachers are working to ensure consistent routines, engaging instruction, and strong support for every student. Our leadership team continues classroom visits to celebrate what is working well and to strengthen learning for all students.

📚 Upcoming Learning Focus

Next week, students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will take Interim Assessments in:

  • Reading Language Arts – Tuesday

  • Math – Thursday

  • Science (as scheduled by grade level)

These assessments help us understand student progress and prepare for STAAR in April. We ask for your support by ensuring students:

  • Arrive on time

  • Get a good night’s rest

  • Come ready to do their best

While STAAR testing begins in 3rd grade, it reflects learning from PK through 2nd grade, making the work in all grade levels extremely important.

📅 Important Dates & Events

  • IMPACT Tutoring begins Monday

  • Saturday School is scheduled for 3rd and 5th grade only (invited students)

  • Early Release Wednesday (next week) for staff professional learning @ noon

  • Our school attendance continues to average 94%—thank you for helping your child attend school every day!

We also want to wish the best of luck to our Robotics VEX Club and their sponsor, Ms. Ortiz-Gonzalez, as they compete—go Pioneers! Competition will be at Navarrette MS @ 8:00 a.m.

Your continued support helps us ensure that every student is learning in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. Thank you for being an essential part of the Barron community.

With gratitude and pride,

The Barron Elementary Leadership Team

"It starts with US!"

  • Lectura y Escritura (RLA) – martes

  • Matemáticas – jueves

  • Ciencias 5° grado
