Public and Permanent Assembly - Mr. Richard Guerry
On October 8th, our students participated in the IROC2 Digital Safety Assembly, an engaging and interactive program that has been a tradition at Lawrence Middle School for many years.
The assembly, led by the Institute for Responsible Online and Cell-Phone Communication (IROC2), helps students understand the importance of using technology safely, responsibly, and respectfully. Through real-life examples and interactive discussions, students learned that everything they do online is both public and permanent, and that smart digital choices today can protect their future opportunities.
We encourage you to continue the conversation at home. IROC2 has allowed us to share the following resources with families and students:
Note: It is highly recommended the videos provided for Students & Parents are previewed before showing them to children under 11.

Week of Respect Wrap-Up
LMS Celebrates the Week of Respect and 75 Years of Cardinal Pride!
Lawrence Middle School celebrated a wonderful Week of Respect, filled with meaningful opportunities for students to demonstrate kindness, positivity, friendship, inclusion, leadership, and teamwork. Throughout the week, our themed days and activities reinforced the importance of treating others with dignity, celebrating our differences, and creating a school community where everyone feels valued and included. Respect is more than just a word at LMS; it is a cornerstone of our Cardinal Code and an essential part of who we are as a school community.
The week culminated on Friday, October 9, with our special Be A Cardinal Day, held in celebration of Lawrence Middle School's 75th Anniversary. This meaningful event brought together our past, present, and future while reinforcing the values that have shaped LMS for generations.
Dr. Milavsky kicked off the morning with a special message to students and staff, reflecting on the rich history of LMS and the generations of Cardinals who have walked its hallways. She also provided students with an exciting sneak peek at our beautiful, newly renovated, state-of-the-art auditorium, a symbol of the continued growth and bright future of our school.
Throughout her message, Dr. Milavsky emphasized that every student is part of the LMS story. For 75 years, students, teachers, and staff have helped shape the traditions, values, and culture that make LMS special. Now it is this generation's turn to contribute. She challenged students to consider how their actions, relationships, leadership, and acts of kindness will leave a positive mark on our school. Being a Cardinal means more than attending LMS; it means helping to build a legacy of respect, responsibility, and pride for those who will follow.
As part of our 75th Anniversary celebration, students and staff also had the opportunity to hear from retired teachers, administrators, former staff members, and alumni who returned to share their experiences and memories of LMS. Their stories provided a wonderful connection between generations and reminded us that while our building and programs continue to evolve, the values and relationships that define LMS remain strong.
A heartfelt thank you to our special guests for sharing their time, memories, wisdom, and Cardinal pride! We also extend our appreciation to our students and staff for making the Week of Respect and Be A Cardinal Day such meaningful celebrations.
The Week of Respect may last five days, but the values we celebrate should guide us every day. As we continue celebrating 75 years of LMS, we encourage every student to think about the chapter they are writing in our school's history and the positive difference they can make.
We are part of the history. We are part of the legacy. We are part of the LMS story.
