Engaging Young Students With Careers

Some of the most powerful learning about careers is influenced by the adults in the young students' life. Students are also engaged by careers they see on television and social media. How can adults inspire awareness in the young people around them?

  1. encourage play; early career exploration starts with your student's imagination
  2. tell them your career story
  3. talk about the careers of the people students see on television, in the movies, in books, or in their neighbourhood around them.
  4. allow students to engage in decision making
  5. help students discover more about their passions and interests
