What an awesome first week and a half! The staff and students have been extremely welcoming and I am starting to learn the way of life in a 4th and 5th grade building. I have been in the high school setting for 17 years, so I have a steep learning curve to climb. I am up for the challenge and enjoying every minute so far! People and relationships are extremely important to me. I am trying to learn everyones name and get to know everyone as quickly as possible. If you see me at parent drop off, please say hello.

This is my 17th year in education. I originally double majored in logistic management and marketing at CMU. I interned at General Motors and had a sales job at Automatic Data Processing. I switched to education in my mid-20's because I was unhappy in the business world. My first teaching job was a long-term substitute position at Linden High School in 2007. I spent 10 years teaching at Carman-Ainsworth High School (CAHS) before becoming the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at CAHS in 2017. While I was teaching at Carman-Ainsworth, I stayed involved in Linden coaching high school athletics (football, basketball, and baseball). 2018 brought me back to Linden where it all started for me, as the assistant principal where I have been for 6 years.

I am a huge family person! My wife is a middle school English teacher in Grand Blanc. We have 2 boys, Brock (11) and Beckett (9). Brock is in the 6th grade while Beckett is in 3rd grade. They keep my wife and I extremely busy playing sports. I enjoy coaching them and watching them grow.

I promise you that I will give Central Elementary kids/staff/parents my best effort at all times. I have been blessed working at Linden and hope you guys take me in as the high school kids/staff/parents have for the last 6 years.

The Bravest Worrier’s author/illustrator Angelique Monet brought her virtual event A Day to be Brave to Central Elementary on Friday March 8th. All students were engaged in captivating story-telling, hands-on activities, a behind-the-scenes virtual tour of Angelique Monet’s studio, and the book’s free augmented reality app.
