Greetings from Mrs. Musick

Dear St. Elizabeth Families,

January started off exciting with Homecoming week and then got a little interesting with sickness and snow. Februray is off to a much better start and we are glad to be seeing more of our students back and our attendance starting to recover. We have hit the 3rd quarter mid quarter. This year is going by so fast! Grades went home or you can see them on Infinite Campus. If you have questions or concerns about grades, please reach out to your child's teacher.

โœ… Celebrations

  • Homecoming week was a great week to kick off the 2nd semester!

  • We celebrated our basketball seniors at Senior Night.

  • We celebrated our 2nd quarter honor roll students with a breakfast.

๐Ÿ“… Upcoming Events

  • Basketball is in their last weeks of regular season.

  • There are several Scholar Bowl competitions this month!

  • Father/Daughter Dance for girls in grades PK-5 is on Sunday, February 15th from 4-6 in the cafeteria.

  • Archery is in full swing with many tournaments this month.

  • There will be an early dismissal on February 13th at 12:09 for Teacher PD.

  • No School on February 16th.

  • There will be a track pre season meeting for those interested in middle school and high school on February 12th at 12:00 on the stage.

๐Ÿ’ก Our Focus: Engagement
This yearโ€™s theme is Year of Engagement. We are working to engage every student, every day, in meaningful learning and active participation. A way that you can help at home is to ask them about what they are learning in the classroom. If you ever have any suggestions, questions, or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to me.

It's a great day to be a Hornet!

On Fridays, student groups, teams, or even random groups of students help me greet students in the morning! We use a speaker with pump up music, do some clapping and dancing, and greet students! It has been such a fun way to start a Friday!

Did you know that on February 4th we were 100 days brighter? Kindergarten and Preschool sure did. When we get to our 120th day, first grade will be sure to let us know!

Counting to 100 is an important standard for kindergartners and counting to 120 is an important standard for first graders!

Reminders for the School Year

Drop off times: Students can't be dropped off before 7:45, unless participating in the Before Care program or an appointment with a teacher. This is to ensure that they are being looked after by staff. Drop off times should be between 7:45 and 8:00 and students will come to the gym during those times instead of main entrance.

Before/After Care for K-5th Grade: Friendly reminder that the end time for After Care for K-5 is 5:00. Please make sure that if your child is here before 7:45, that they are attending Before Care.

Changes to routine: Please make sure to call the office before 2:00 or send a note in if there are changes to your child's routine for dismissal.

Pre-Arranged Absences: Please be sure to let Mrs. Musick and child's teacher(s) know. All work should be gathered before and is due upon return.
