210 Days of Work/210 Day of Pay.
July 28th, 2026
Assistant Principals Do Not Work In July..... Periodt!
Nobody Can Make You...... Advocate For Yourself or Call Me!!
If your principal or supervisor has forced you to come to work even one day in the month July they are in violation and you need to speak up now. Do not allow yourself to be used and abused, when you have the contract at your disposal and you know how to read.Unless you have officially signed up for summer work or summer school, you will not be paid for any work that you do during the month of July.
You are paid for 210 days each year fiscal year. You must complete 210 days of work sometime between August 1st and June 30th of each school year as long as you include all of the days that students are scheduled to report. Eleven month ASASP unit members do not get paid for any work in July. The entire month July is your month off without question. No ifs, ands, or buts about!
You really should not be in the building at all. You are providing free labor if you do, which only makes it harder for the union to argue for 12 month pay and positions. Please don't be bamboozled, hoodwinked, run amok, or led astray to work for free, no matter how much you want to!
The June 17th end date for 11 month ASASP employees is incorrect in the memo that was sent out earlier this month by the administration. I am working with them now to get that corrected. In the meantime and in between time you need to be clear.
You have the option of completing your 210 up to and including June 30th if you so choose. This means also that August 3rd is not mandatory for you to begin your 210 days. The union has fought hard and won you the right to have some flexibility in when you complete your 210 days.
Some of you may start on August 3rd and be done by June 21st, whereas others of you may decide to come back on August 10th and work complete your 210 days by June 30th. The choice is yours! Also, don't forget to count those Saturday events that you may be called in to work for two or three hours, for a football game or school activity. If you are called or authorized to come in for any portion of any day on the weekend, you count that as a full work day in your 210 calendar.
