Hawk News 1/17/2025
Hendrickson High School
Message from Principal Grebb:
Hawks, we’re halfway through January, and before you know it, the end of the school year will be upon us! 2025 is already shaping up to be an incredible year for Hendrickson students, and you continue to make us proud.
This past week, we celebrated some amazing achievements:
Six of our talented band students were selected for the prestigious All-State Band.
Senior Moises Aguirre earned a full-ride scholarship through the NROTC program—an incredible accomplishment!
Our cheer squad is in Fort Worth competing at the UIL Cheer Contest, aiming for the title of Best in State today.
Both Boys and Girls Basketball teams are in playoff positions as they hit the halfway mark of district play.
Two of our Unified students represented us with pride, speaking at the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics Winter Games.
In the classroom, things are heating up as well, with students gearing up for SATs, STAAR EOC exams, and Advanced Placement tests this spring. Let’s stay focused and continue striving for excellence both inside and outside of the classroom.
Enjoy the well-deserved three-day weekend, and let’s keep this momentum going!
Go Hawks!

The Anonymous Alerts is an anti-bullying and safety app reporting system that helps combat bullying and other negative activity in schools by empowering students to speak up. Social and peer pressure are some of the hardest obstacles for students to overcome. Students or parents can submit reports such as bullying, cyber bullying, depression, dating violence, drug or alcohol use, threats against the school, weapons on campus, and more.
The system allows for 1-way or 2-way anonymous encrypted communications between the submitters (students, parents, or community members) and District administration and/or school staff. Users of the system have the option to remain anonymous or reveal their identity when submitting a report.

2025-2026 Academic Calendar
Shaping the 2025-2026 Academic Calendar: Your Voice MattersPflugerville ISD is committed to creating an academic calendar that reflects the diverse needs of our students, families, and staff. As we plan for the 2025-2026 school year, we invite our students, families, and staff to play an active role in shaping a calendar that supports high-quality instruction, respects family schedules, and honors important holidays while prioritizing professional development for our educators.
The proposed calendar options were thoughtfully crafted by the District Academic Advisory Council (DAAC), a collaborative group of parents, staff, and community members dedicated to ensuring the academic calendar aligns with our district's goals and values. Their work aims to balance instructional time, teacher planning needs, and the unique dynamics of our community.
This year, the DAAC has developed two calendar options for your consideration: Draft 1 and Draft 2. To help you make an informed choice, we have also included a Side-by-Side Comparison of the two drafts.
Side-by-Side Comparison
We encourage you to review the drafts and share your thoughts. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us finalize a calendar that works for everyone.
How to Provide Feedback:
After reviewing the options, please take a moment to complete our survey and make your voice heard. The survey will remain open until January 16, 2025, ensuring ample time for community input.
Complete the Survey Here
We look forward to hearing from you and thank you for partnering with us in this important decision-making process.
Together, we can create a calendar that supports academic success and strengthens our community.
