Dear Oak Ridge Families,
This week we celebrated Thanksgiving with fourth grade students researching Native American cultures and building models to present to younger students about the various Native American Cultures. Some built pueblos, wigwams, teepees, and plank homes along with items to represent each culture. Third grade students built ships to represent the Mayflower and had a contest to see which ships would actually float. Early Childhood celebrated with a "Friendsgiving" in the class. The kitchen crew cooked a wonderful Thanksgiving feast for our kiddos today! Thank you ladies!
The Oak Ridge Elementary Christmas Concert for Early Childhood through fifth grade will be December 8th in the old gym. Student attire should be festive. Please have students here and seated in the old gym with their teacher by 6:40PM. The concert will begin at 7:00PM.
The annual Oak Ridge Community Christmas Parade will be December 3rd with events from the Oak Ridge PTO and the Oak Ridge Alumni Foundation (see flyers below). The parade will start at 6:00PM. Christmas Spirit Week will be December 12th-21st. The 2nd quarter celebration will be December 21st @ 11:00AM in the old gym. Parents, come and help us celebrate the end of 2nd quarter with fun, games, and prizes. School will dismiss at 12:30PM on December 21, 2022 for Christmas break and resume on January 4, 2023 for second semester.
