Tiger Talk

Dear LECC Families,

That was a short week, but a successful one! I’ll keep this week’s update short and sweet.

Next week, our Kindergarten students will continue working on the i-Ready Reading Diagnostic. Please help us by making sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and comes to school rested and ready to do their best. Remember, this assessment is not about getting every question right, it helps us better understand each student’s individual strengths and areas for growth.

We will also complete our Fall DIBELS assessment next week. DIBELS is a brief early literacy assessment that looks at important foundational reading skills, such as letter knowledge, sounds, and phonemic awareness. The information from DIBELS gives our teachers another valuable piece of data to help determine what each child needs. For some students, that may mean additional support or intervention, while for others it may help us identify opportunities for enrichment and continued growth.

As always, these assessments are simply tools that help us get to know our learners better and make sure we are meeting them where they are.

Have a wonderful weekend with your friends and family!

🚗 Car Rider Line Reminder 🚗

Our car rider line is seeing record numbers this year! We completely understand that many of our families need to use the car rider line on a daily basis, and we appreciate your patience as we work together to keep things moving safely and efficiently.

For the safety of our students and staff, we kindly ask that you:

🧡 Stay in your vehicle and follow the car rider line for both drop-off and pick-up.
🧡 Please do not park and walk your student to the building in an effort to bypass the car rider line.
🧡 The only students walking on the sidewalk should be our walkers who live in the neighboring subdivisions.

🧡We certainly understand that transportation plans may need to change from time to time. If there is a change to your child’s normal dismissal plan—whether they typically ride the bus or are a car rider—please contact Penny in the front office before 2:00 PM.

We know the car rider line can take a little extra time, especially with our record numbers this year, but following these procedures helps keep everyone safe and allows our staff to do their jobs effectively.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and help in keeping our students and staff safe! 🐯🖤

We are collaborating with the Loveland High School Spirit Club to continue a tradition here at Loveland Schools. The Class of 2027 and Class of 2039 come together in a symbolic gesture of passing the "Spirit". This event will take place at the Friday Night Football game on October 2nd at halftime. In order for us to gauge interest, we are asking families to fill out a google form so that we can know how many families to expect. More information can be found in the form. Hi! I am Jaime Heybruch and I am the LECC School Counselor. This is my 13th year in Loveland and I love working with our littlest Tigers! The school counseling program at LECC is designed to support the whole child. My goal is to encourage the social, emotional, and academic growth of all students. I want each child to feel confident, happy, and safe at school. Keep an eye out for monthly notes from me in the school’s Tiger Talk newsletter. Attendance is important. Any time your child misses school, they miss out on the opportunity to learn. When they are absent, they can fall behind. The State of Ohio has changed the law regarding school attendance. With the change, if students miss too much classroom time - for any reason - they can be labeled “Chronically Absent.”

What To Expect:

• If your student misses 3.5% of classroom time, which might be just a few days of school, you will receive a letter in the mail reminding you how important it is for them to attend school.

• If your student misses 5% of classroom time, or about 60 hours of school, you may need to come in for a meeting while we develop an Absence Intervention Plan.

• If the missed instructional time reaches 10%, truancy charges could be filed against your student. Their parents or guardians could also face charges for failing to send them to school.

What To Do:

It’s important to get your student to school every day. Keep your child home when they are sick, but let us know why they’re absent and when they might return. Plan vacations and other trips during school breaks - not during school time. Our calendars are available on our website at this link, so you can make plans.

If your child is dealing with a chronic illness or other ongoing issue, call or email the office so we can account for absences and support their learning. And if you are facing other challenges getting your child to school, let us know, so that we can work with you to find solutions.

We know that not every student will have perfect attendance, but being in school as much as possible is the best way for students to learn, and learning leads to lifelong success.

The school calendar is available for the 2026-27 school year. You can view and print an easy-to-read version of the calendar and important dates by following this link to our website.
