Elementary Student of the Week

Bash is an AMAZING first grader already! He comes to Zoom ready to participate, ready to work, and ready to learn! He is does a fantastic job listening and getting his work done during class. He is always willing to answer questions and show me all of his hard work at the end of class time.

Bash is also terrific at getting his Canvas work done every day and on time. He works hard to get all of his assignments finished. Because of all of his hard work, he has learned so much at school. He is reading so well and has even started reading his first graphic novel with his mom's help! Nothing is too hard for Bastyan because he is determined, confident, and works hard! I was so lucky to be Bash's kindergarten teacher, and I am even luckier to be his first-grade teacher! He is definitely one AMAZING student at Davis Connect! Way to go Bash!!

Welcome Our New K-6 Office Manager, Mrs. Gilchrist!

We are excited to introduce Mrs. Gilchrist, our new K-6 Office Manager! Mrs. Gillchrist has been a valued member of the Davis Connect family for the past three years, and we are thrilled to have her step into this new role.

Get to know Mrs. Gilchrist:

"I've been part of the Davis Connect family for 3 years and am excited to be the new K-6 office manager. When I'm not working, you can find me at the park with my 10-pound Chihuahua mix or tackling an extreme dot-to-dot picture, the crazier, the better! I'm also a big fan of movies from the 1940s. And my new (slightly concerning) obsession? Sour Patch Kids. They are the perfect combination of sweet, sour, and 'I'll just have one more.'"

Please join us in giving Mrs. Gilchrist a warm welcome! We're excited for our students, families, and staff to get to know her and look forward to all the wonderful things she will bring to our school community.

Davis School District has partnered with Waterford Upstart to provide PreK children with an engaging, at-home early learning program designed to help prepare them for kindergarten and a bright future.

Program Benefits:

Fun, engaging lessons in reading, math, and science designed to take just 15 minutes a day
Personalized family coaching and easy-to-use resources that complement the learning you are already doing with your child
A computer and internet access for families who qualify

Join Community Council!

We are looking for parents and guardians who would like to be involved in our Community Council. This is a great opportunity to share ideas, provide feedback, and work together to support our students, families, and school programs. Whether you have been involved before or are looking for a new way to connect, we would love to hear from you! Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive

Join the Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive on Saturday, September 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 308 North Main Street, Layton, UT 84041. This free family event will feature pizza, games, face painting, a balloon artist, prizes, and free eye exams. Community members are invited to donate new school supplies to support preschool students and families in need through the Davis School District Head Start Program. Requested donations include preschool children's books, crayons, markers, pencils, safety scissors, glue sticks, backpacks, coloring and construction paper, matching games and cards, blocks, Legos, puzzles, and other school supplies. Attendees can also enter for a chance to win a Nintendo Switch by completing and turning in the event coloring page. Donations and proceeds from the event will help provide essential learning materials to preschoolers throughout our community.

Before picking up a student device, please log in to MyDSD and complete the following required forms:

Both forms must be completed before a device can be checked out

Traveling Outside the U.S.?
If a student will be traveling outside the U.S., please email making@dsdmail.net with the following information:
- Student Name
- Student District ID
- Student Email
- Student Grade
- Parent/Guardian Name
- Parent/Guardian Email
- Parent/Guardian Phone
- Date leaving the U.S.
- Date returning to the U.S.
Please allow a minimum of one week for us to process the change.
