Rituals
This morning we're celebrating the Junior Ring Mass, a "moving up" ritual calling attention to the rise of the Class of 2027. I must admit that I thought a Junior Ring ceremony (and a junior ring!) was a little silly when I first came across one at my first assignment over 25 years ago. It seemed frivolous and unnecessary.
But as I've grown accustomed to the rhythms of a school year, I've come to appreciate rituals like the Junior Ring Mass. Held in the spring semester, it symbolizes the rise of the junior class as the senior class is preparing to move on. Trust me, the seniors are beginning to show signs of moving on! So it's time for the juniors to embrace their new roles and the ritual of a Junior Ring Mass captures that moment.
Andrew Greeley once coined the phrase "The Catholic Imagination" to describe how Catholics are predisposed to see meaning in ritual since their weekly ritual (Sunday Mass) is full of symbolism. We also commit to All-School Masses and daily prayer. These school rituals build upon our religious rituals to imbue meaning into school life.
We'll have other school rituals this spring, of course, most notably graduation, Baccalaureate Mass, junior capping, and Class Day Celebrations. I hope you can join us in some of these valuable rituals!

News & Notes
Fashion Show is taking place on Saturday, February 28. Tickets are available for purchase here until Monday, February 23
The next step for reenrollment is for parents to apply for financial aid. If your family is currently receiving need-based aid, then you must fill out an annual Clarity application based on your 2024 tax return. This will give us a clear idea for budgeting tuition assistance for next year. Students have been given their course preference forms, due Feb 11th.
Lenten Community Meals begin the first Friday of Lent, February 20th.
