A School Environment Focused on Learning and Preparing Students for Success - Hats, Hoods, Toys , and so much
Supporting a Focused Learning Environment
We appreciate your partnership in helping us create a school environment that is focused on learning, consistency, and student success across all Ledyard Public Schools.
To support this, we ask for your help with the following expectations:
Hats and Hoods
In alignment with Board of Education policy, hats, caps, and hoods are not to be worn during the school day. This expectation is consistently enforced at the middle and high school levels, and reinforcing it now helps set our students up for continued success in the years ahead.
Toys, Stuffed Animals, and Fidgets
To minimize distractions and keep the focus on learning, toys, stuffed animals, and fidgets should not be brought to school unless approved by the classroom teacher.
We intentionally build in special opportunities—such as stuffed animal days, hat spirit days, and Field Day—so these items remain fun, meaningful, and part of our school culture.
If a student benefits from a fidget as a learning support, we will work together as a team (teacher, family, and student) to develop a shared plan that supports their success in the classroom.
Thank you for your support in reinforcing these expectations. When we are consistent between home and school, we create a more focused, positive, and successful learning environment for all students.
Food Services Payment - If Paying By Check...
When paying for school lunch and breakfast, if you use a check, please be sure to make it out to "Ledyard Milk Fund". Thank you for your cooperation.
Celebrating Earth Day
Miss Terracciano's Kindergarteners did many activities focused on Earth day. They even went on a nature walk and learned many ways that they can take care of our planet and why it is important!
STEM classes celebrated Earth Day with cardboard carnival games made of recyclables, turtle racing to outrun plastic pollution, and solar powered Lego houses with spinning fans.
