February, 2026
Message from Mrs. Landis
As we head into February, our campus is entering an important season of learning and growth. Students will soon be participating in key assessments, including AZELLA (EL Students Only), NWEA, i-Ready, and, before we know it, AASA State Testing (3rd-6th Grades). These assessments help us understand student progress and guide our instruction, and we encourage families to talk with their children about the importance of showing growth, staying confident, and simply doing their personal best.
This week also brings Parent-Teacher Conferences, which are a powerful opportunity to strengthen our partnership. Your involvement and collaboration with teachers play a huge role in student success, and we truly value that connection. Thank you for your continued support, encouragement at home, and commitment to working together as we help our students shine during this testing season and beyond

DVUSD Dress Code
Please ensure your child is adhering to dress code, so that the learning environments are not disrupted. We also would like to avoid interrupting your day at work. We do have some extra clothing here, but not a lot. When a student is dress coded, they will either be asked to change (if we have clothing), or a phone call will be made for a change of clothes. If you have school appropriate clothing that your child has outgrown, and you would like to donate it, you may bring it to the office. We greatly appreciate your support!
LOBO Way
Please click on the Esperanza Expectations. These are the expectations that we follow while at school. Please review often with your child, and ask them about the Lobo Way.

Esperanza Attendance Goal
It is our goal to have all of our students attending school daily. Our January Attendance Goal began the 1st Day back! For each week that a student has perfect attendance (no absences, no tardies, no early checkouts), their name will be entered into a drawing to be Administrator For The Day! We will have a K-3 Winner and a 4-6 Winner! The more weeks of Perfect Attendance, the more chances to win!
If you are unsure about your child's attendance, please log in to PowerSchools, or you may email Amber.Landis@dvusd.org.
