Dear Alta Mesa Families,

We are in the full swing of September now! Monday will be September 11th and I encourage families to discuss why that date is important. Even though we are now over two decades away from that historical day, it is important to remember the events of 9/11 and its impact on our country.

Reminder for parents that pictures will not be available from Studi0 530 for a few days as the process the photos from picture day. Don't worry if your child missed picture day as we will have make-ups later in the year. Stay tuned for more information.

This week we have a lot of clubs, sports, and meetings happening on campus. Make sure to read through the entire newsletter for the most up to date information! It's going to be another great week!

The Riffle Raffle is our classroom teachers main fundraiser for the year. The ticket sales are facilitated by our Alta Mesa Parent Club. If you are interested in selling tickets, please sign the ticket request form that will go home with your student.

All proceeds go to the classroom teachers Parent Club account to be used for many things including field trips and the purchase of classroom materials.

Please remember to turn in sold Riffle Raffle tickets weekly.

ALL TICKETS ARE DUE BACK ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6TH.

This week we are holding our elections for School Site Council. This council meets to approve certain federal funds provided to Alta Mesa as well as the approval of our Single Site Plan for Student Success and the School Safety Plan.

When: Wednesday, September 13th

Time: 6:00-7:00pm

Where: Alta Mesa Library

All parents, including new parents, should have logged into the Parent Portal at some point already. Why do you need to create a parent account? This is a secure platform through which you will view your child's teacher/class, receive your child’s report card, complete enrollment, and complete the necessary beginning-of-the-year school forms like your child's emergency card. In the future, this is also how state testing results will be communicated.
