September 2 2026 Community Update

September 2, 2026
Dear Staff and Families,
As we complete the second day of school, I want to provide another update on the district-wide phone and network outage.
I recognize that this update is reaching you later than I would have preferred. As this situation continues to evolve, I want to be deliberate about confirming information before communicating it broadly so that the updates we provide are as accurate and reliable as possible.
Our technology team continues to work alongside external information technology experts to conduct a thorough technical investigation into the disruption. Please keep in mind that this investigation remains in its early stages and is ongoing. Restoration efforts are continuing, but some services and systems will remain inaccessible until we are confident that they can be safely brought back into service.
As of this afternoon, the following systems continue to be affected:
- Internet and Wi-Fi, including clocks and access to online instructional tools
- District and school phone lines for incoming and outgoing calls
- Student information system, including parent portals, online attendance recording, and gradebook access
With phone service still unavailable, the best way to reach your school for routine matters is by emailing your building principal. Principals will be checking messages when internet access permits, so email should not be relied upon for urgent situations. Our school main offices remain open for in-person assistance throughout regular school hours.
I also want to reassure our families and staff that, despite the disruption to our regular phone and network systems, the district has established procedures in place to maintain internal communication and coordinate an immediate response should an emergency occur. Our on-site emergency safety systems and protocols remain operational and we have processes in place to ensure that families can be notified should circumstances require emergency communication.
Our schools have continued to operate safely and effectively throughout the disruption and I am grateful to our staff for the flexibility and resourcefulness they have demonstrated. I also appreciate the patience and understanding of our families as we work through an unusual and challenging start to the school year.
We will share additional information as soon as we have verified details regarding system restoration and reconnection.
Thank you for your continued patience and support.
Dr. G
