Dear Families,

November is a month of gratitude, reflection, and community engagement. As we move into this season of thankfulness, we want to share a few important updates and reminders:

• November 4 – Voting Day: We encourage all families to participate in this important civic duty. Judson ISD will have the VATRE (Voter-Approved Tax Rate Election) on the ballot. Your voice matters in shaping the future of our schools!

• November 11 – Veterans Day: In honor of those who have served our country, there will be no school on Monday, November 11. We thank all veterans in our community for their service and sacrifice.

We appreciate your continued support and partnership in your child’s education. Let’s make November a month of learning, gratitude, and community spirit!

Our 1st annual Selma Elementary Veterans Day assembly is coming up very soon and we need your help with a special project! Please email a picture of the Veterans in your family, so they be can added to the Selma Veterans Slideshow. Include the picture, branch of service, service dates, and any wars or conflicts involved in. If you have submitted pictures in the past four years (from former CVE students), I should still have your pictures on file, and you can just send me any updates on what they are doing or have done. Please email the picture and information to me at: astuartnevarez@judsonisd.org by Friday, November 7th. If you are not sure if you sent me a picture in the past, send me an email or message and I will check to see.

All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

On Campus Volunteering

Parents and guardians of a child enrolled at a Judson ISD campus, who volunteer on campus, are not required to complete the Volunteer application. They will be required to check-in using the Verkada Verification System using their Driver's License and/or a government-issued photo ID.

Off Campus Volunteering (Field Trips)

The Volunteer Application will be for ANYONE volunteering to chaperone an OFF CAMPUS field trip. Applications must be submitted 7-10 days prior to the field trip. This application must be completed once per school year. Complete the application here.

Selma families please be sure that we are following our traffic plan for arrival and dismissal.

At arrival please do not park in the car line and walk up to the door, we need to keep the car rider line moving, if your students need help, our staff will help them out of the car

At dismissal it is important to have your car tag to ensure the safety of our students. The safety of all is important to us so we also ask you not to exit your vehicle while actively in the dismissal lane.

We do not allow early dismissal after 2:30 and walk ups during the time of dismissal. Please be sure you have your blue card on the dash of your vehicle, if you do not have it, we will ask you to park and come inside to school to receive a new card with your identification.

All walkers should walk home safely along the sidewalk, it is not a car rider pick up location.

Our playgrounds are still under construction, we will be having indoor recess, contractors are making slow progress, but the space is starting to look more complete every week, thank you for the continued patience.

Breakfast and Lunch are free to all students.
