Broadmoor's Weekly Wildcat News!
October 11, 2026
Dear BES Families,
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! We will be back to school on Tuesday, so one more day to enjoy this October weather!
We loved our visit with author Angela Cervantes. She was so good and the kids were absolutely captivated by her presentation. I know many of them were wanting to read her books after hearing about them!
Don't forget to send us our child's photo for our passion wall! We LOVE seeing what our students are passionate about outside of school. We already have some great photos of our kids playing sports, fishing, and exploring. You can find out more below in Mrs. McIntire's notes!
Thank you for coming to conferences, we had a great turn-out. A huge thank you to the McMurray family for providing breakfast to our teachers on Thursday morning and to the Goodman and Zerr families for the pop and drinks! We appreciate it!
Report cards will come home this week. Please keep the report, but sign and return the envelope.
Have a great week,
Cindy Apple, Principal

Music Notes from Mrs. Montgomery
Dear Families,
November is quickly approaching, which means we are close to our Veterans Day concert next month! The concert will take place on November 11 at 1pm in the LHS gym.
As we continue to prepare for the Veterans Day concert, please have your child practice at home using the link below:
I appreciate your help in encouraging your child to practice at home. Thank you for supporting our students as they prepare to honor our veterans!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Montgomery

Attendance and School Calendar
Please take note of our school calendars when planning your family's vacations.
Attendance is a focus at BES and we want your children at school! It can be very difficult for students to get caught up sometimes when they miss for extended periods of time. For example, when a student misses a week of school, that is up to 450 minutes of math instruction they are missing!
If your family does have a trip planned, we do not provide lessons or materials ahead of those trips. Teachers will work with you to schedule times when your student can be given that instruction and guided work time to ensure mastery of skills. This may have to happen before or after school, but we will also try to work during the school day as well.
GREAT school habits now help prepare students for future success!

Share Your Child's Passion with Us!
Our students do some really cool things outside of school & we want to highlight and celebrate those passions, talents and strengths as we talk about the mindset 'Passion First' this month. Please send a photo of your child doing something they love! Photos will be displayed on the commons bulletin board through the month of October. Photos can be emailed to your teacher or to mcintires@usd416.org. Thank you!!
Hello, USD 416 Family and Friends!
Even though winter and the holidays may feel like they’re still a little ways away, they’ll be here before we know it! Our district social workers/counselors created a Winter & Holiday Resource Newsletter with information about local resources and ways to sign up for assistance with winter coats, Thanksgiving meal baskets and Christmas gifts.
We hope this resource helps families plan ahead and know where to turn if a little extra support would be helpful this season. Please don't hesitate to contact your child's building social worker/counselor if there is anything they can do to help!
Best Regards,
USD 416 Social Workers/Counselors
