Rincon Community News #22

Principal Weekly Message
January 10, 2026
What an incredible first week of 2026! The energy in our school has been nothing short of amazing, and I am thrilled to share some highlights from our week.
Our amazing Assistant Principals, Ms. Carvajal and Mrs. Conroy kicked off the week with a refresher B.A.R.K assembly on Tuesday, setting a positive tone and helping our students gear up for success. It was fantastic to see everyone engaged and ready to embrace our core values. Throughout the week, we continued this momentum with follow-up lessons in advisory, reinforcing our commitment to creating a supportive and thriving learning environment.
Our students truly shone this week, demonstrating their readiness and enthusiasm to be back in the classroom. Their excitement was palpable, and it was heartwarming to see our community come together so positively.
I’m also proud to say that our staff was equally engaged this week. They were ready to be back with our students and participated in meaningful learning experiences, diving deeper into understanding ourselves and each other. This collaboration is essential as we build an even stronger community of educators working together in service of our amazing students.
To cap off this fantastic week, we held our After School CLUB RUSH event on Friday during both lunches! Students had the opportunity to explore various after-school offerings for the spring sessions, and the enthusiasm was inspiring. It was a joy to watch the curiosity and excitement as students discovered new interests and activities. Sign-ups close soon, so don't miss out.
Let’s keep this Bulldog spirit strong and B.A.R.K (Believe, Achieve, Respect, and Kindness) for success! Together, we can continue to foster a supportive and vibrant community for our students. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to making Rincon a remarkable place for everyone.
With gratitude,
Principal Meglich

Basketball Evaluations
We are thrilled to announce that the X-Track Program at the Boys & Girls Club is officially kicking off our Middle School Basketball League—and we couldn’t be more excited!
This league is about more than just basketball. It’s an opportunity for our middle school students to build teamwork, confidence, leadership, and sportsmanship while having fun and staying active in a positive, supportive environment. Whether your student is new to the game or already loves basketball, this league is designed to help everyone grow both on and off the court.
Over the coming weeks, participants can look forward to:
Organized team practices and games
Skill development and mentorship from our coaches
A fun, competitive, and encouraging atmosphere
A chance to represent X-Track with pride
The evaluations will be taking place at the Boys and Girls Club: Conrad Prebys Escondido, starting on January 20th through January 23rd. Please see the attachments for your school's evaluation flyer (provided in English and Spanish). The week following evaluation will be their time to practice their skills for gamedays starting on February 2nd. Game days will be Monday-Friday at 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm.
We can’t wait to see our students lace up their sneakers, hit the court, and show their school spirit and X-Track pride. Thank you for being part of our Boys & Girls Club family and for supporting our youth as they learn, grow, and play together.
