Good evening, Trojan Families!

This is a message from your proud principal, Mrs. Kinard, and the school leaders at Ferndale Middle School. We strongly encourage you to access the digital version of this announcement, available on our school website and social media. It contains additional important information that you and your students need to know.

This week marks an important time for our Trojans as we begin End-of-Grade (EOG) testing! We are proud of how hard our students have worked to prepare, and we know they’re ready to show what they’ve learned. Please see the testing schedule and tips below to help your child have a successful testing experience.

📅 EOG Testing Schedule:

  • Monday, June 2 – ELA (All Grades)

  • Tuesday, June 3 – Math (All Grades) & Math I (8th Grade)

  • Wednesday, June 4 – 8th Grade Science & Math I (7th Grade)

✅ How You Can Help Your Student Succeed:

  • Get plenty of rest the night before each test. A well-rested mind performs best!

  • Arrive on time. Students must be on campus by 8:30 AM. Late arrivals may not be able to test.

  • Eat a good breakfast. A healthy meal helps with focus and stamina.

  • Send positive vibes! A quick word of encouragement in the morning goes a long way.

  • Avoid early check-outs. We want all students to have ample time to do their best.

If you haven’t already, please return your retesting consent form in case your student needs a second opportunity.

Let’s finish strong and show everyone what Ferndale excellence looks like!

GCS Immigration Response GCS Immigration Response

Every family should know that every child in Guilford County has the Constitutional right to attend school regardless of immigration status. The Guilford County Schools does not request or record information about a student’s immigration status. Federal and state laws protect student information from disclosure to others, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). GCS does not permit non-students, including ICE agents, access to GCS facilities unless they can produce a warrant signed by a federal judge. School administrators will not permit the disclosure of confidential student information without first consulting their attorney to make sure that the information has been properly subject to a federal judge’s warrant.

Families should consult community resources to learn their rights and additional information will be provided to help families access these resources.
