Gearing up for Mid-Year
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we begin the new year, we are excited to continue fostering the growth and success of our students. To kick off the second half of the school year, we will be administering an iReady diagnostic assessment that is designed to measure student progress and help us understand where each student stands in their learning journey.
We will be completing this diagnostic by mid-January so that we can analyze the data and use it to inform our upcoming lessons. Our goal is to ensure that every student receives the support they need to succeed, whether that means providing additional help for those who need it, or offering enrichment opportunities for students who are ready for more challenges.
We encourage you to speak with your child and remind them that this diagnostic is an opportunity to show what they know. It is just one measure of their growth, and we are committed to supporting them through every step of their learning. Please help your child to approach this with a positive mindset, and encourage them to do their best. Perseverance and effort will help them shine!
Thank you for your continued support in helping our students thrive. We are excited to review the results and set the stage for a fantastic second half of the school year!
In collaboration,
Lara Liden and Ashlie Moore
Temporary Assistant Principal Support
Dear Lone Pine Families,
I’d like to share a quick update regarding assistant principal support at Lone Pine.
At times, our assistant principals are asked to support at other school sites based on student need.
Ashlie Moore is currently supporting at another site and while she is away we are pleased to have AJ Schultz serving in the assistant principal role at Lone Pine. AJ brings valuable AP experience and a strong student-centered approach, and he is already working closely with our students, special programs and staff.
We are grateful for the flexibility and collaboration within our district that allows us to ensure consistent leadership and support for our school community. Please welcome AJ if you see him around campus.

iReady Growth
Our students are working so hard on their iReady growth! Students are tracking how many lessons they complete and are working toward goals of 50 lessons, 100 lessons and 150 lessons! We have been amazed at their progress! We had an assembly to celebrate their hard work and even had some special guests show up! Thank you to Plori and Snargg for making our assembly so fun!
Heart-felt THANK YOU!
THANK YOU to our many generous families who brought in supplies for our supply drive and who purchased gifts for our Giving Tree! Our Lone Pine community was able to bless the work of the Maslow Project with our supplies. You were also able to supply the blessing of Christmas gifts to over 20 children in 5 different families.
Thank you Lone Pine for your amazing generosity this year to those in need.
PikMyKid
It is extremely helpful with our student dismissal for parents to have the PikMyKid App. When you use the App we can get your kid to your quicker and get you out of the car line faster!
Keep in mind: the PikMyKid App doesn't track you or your student. The app recognizes when you enter the school campus and gives you the option to "announce your arrival". This announcement sends a message to our staff who can then send your child directly out to you.
Grandparents and caregivers can also download and use this app to pick up students. In the event of an early release for weather reasons or for emergencies, having the PikMyKid app would allow you or your other caregivers to collect your students far more quickly than if you do not use the app.
If you have yet to set up your PikMyKid app on your phone or device, please review the videos below for helpful tips on getting started:

Lunch and Snack Time!!!
The Importance of Healthy Foods
Did you know that the food we feed our bodies has a direct impact on how well our body and brain function? As adults we often prioritize healthy choices and healthy snacks for ourselves, but when it comes to kids, we forget that "kid food" often doesn't have the nutrients our growing children need.
When packing a snack or lunch for your child, please remember that snacks need to be healthy choices instead of empty calories like candy, chocolate bars, and bags of chips. Good snack choices are fresh fruits, cheese and crackers, healthy granola bars or protein bars, jerky or meat sticks or pretzels. Please consider the same thing when you pack your child's lunches. Students are allowed to have small treats in their lunch boxes, but we encourage them to eat their main thing before their treat.
Lone Pine does not allow students to have sodas at school. Juice, Gatorade, water and milk are all good options for beverages. If your child needs a drink, we have two water fountains in the cafeteria area and as usual, ALL students are allowed to get either a white milk or chocolate milk from the kitchen.
