Commencement 2024
When is Commencement? This is a question on many people's mind this time of year, and one we are hearing more often. As most people know, Commencement is held at the Pavilion at Star Lake. The ownership group of the pavilion generously donates use of the space and we are most appreciative of this as it gives our students and families a very unique experience for the milestone moment. Unfortunately, since we rely on this generosity because we could not afford to pay for the use of the space, in some years it leads to a delay in setting the date of Commencement. Their management needs to identify definite openings in their concert schedule before committing to a date for us. We have been actively working with them to solidify a date. In fact, these discussions begin for the next one immediately after each Commencement. We are hopeful that we will have the date in the near future.
Senior Zack Schrockman Reaches the 1000 Point Milestone
Though the final score of Tuesday evening's boys basketball playoff game against Bishop Canevin did not go in the Blue Devil's favor, there was a bright spot. Senior Zack Schrockman broke the 1000 point mark, for his high school basketball career, in the first half of the contest. After the game, Zack's teammates, coaches, family members, the cheerleaders, and Burgettstown spectators gathered on the court to help Zack celebrate the occasion. Great job, Zack! We are proud of you!
WPIAL Boys Basketball All Section Teams Announced
The WPIAL All-Section teams were released this week, and in Class 2A, Section 4, Seniors James Leuice and Zack Schrockman captured two of the five first-team spots. Additionally, Senior Carson Tkalcevic garnered an Honorable Mention spot. Great job, boys!
Senior Sam Elich earns Sportsmanship Award
Sam Elich was recognized with the 2A Section 4 Sportsmanship Award when the all section awards were announced. We are proud of Sam for displaying the kind of behavior, attitude, commitment, and personality that it takes to be recognized with the Sportsmanship Award.
