September Happenings
Our monthly newsletter is under construction.
In the meantime enjoy this short publication for the month of September.
We celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15) to recognize the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success. The observation began in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period. It was enacted into law on August 17, 1988. The theme for 2024 is “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together.”

Suicide is a major public health concern. More than 48,100 people die by suicide each year in the United States; it is the 11th leading cause of death overall. Suicide is complicated and tragic, but it is often preventable. For more information on suicide prevention, visit health topic page or download the brochures.
Help raise awareness by sharing resources that help others recognize the warning signs for suicide and know how to get help.
