Welcome, new Kindergarten families!

Families are eligible to enroll kindergartners who will be five-years-old, on or before Sept. 1, 2022.

Exception: According to Michigan Law, a child may be enrolled in kindergarten if he/she is not five years of age on September 1, 2022, but will be five years of age no later than December 1, 2022 and parent or legal guardian notifies the school district in writing (Kindergarten Waiver Form) that he or she intends to enroll the child in kindergarten.

If you are considering enrolling your student using a Waiver Form, we STRONGLY suggest that you reach out to our team to talk through your child's readiness. If this is you, please email the principal at julieamann@wlcsd.org.

The Walled Lake Consolidated School District is hosting Kindergarten Orientation for the 2022-23 school year on Monday, March 14 at 6:00 PM. This event is an informational evening for incoming Kindergarten Parents. We will share important information about Kindergarten at Walled Lake Elementary for the 2022-2023 school year.

If Walled Lake Elementary is your home school, please join WLE's Principal, Julie Amann, and the WLE Kindergarten staff for an informative parent evening in the Learning Commons, (media center), at Walled Lake Elementary.

WATCH: Be sure to watch this video prior to attending the informational Kindergarten Parent Orientation evening at Walled Lake Elementary on March 14th. This is a comprehensive video that will feature a welcome from several Elementary Principals and the Superintendent, mini presentations from the Kindergarten teachers, Transportation, Food Service, Student Services, and even recent Kindergarten students to give parents an idea of what students will learn in Kindergarten. SUBMIT: Please take a moment to complete a Google Form with your contact information and any questions you have after reviewing the Kindergarten Orientation video. Complete the form by simply pressing the button below labeled Kindergarten Orientation Questionnaire.

This is a very important step. It allows Walled Lake Elementary to gather your contact information to use for future communications.

REGISTER ONLINE: Please see below for information about the virtual enrollment process. It is important that you gather all of the required documents BEFORE beginning the online registration process. Families will be able to scan and/or take photo images of the necessary documents and email them to Walled Lake Schools Student Services Office. Finally, click on the button that says Begin Enrollment to complete the online enrollment process, available March 14th.

ATTEND: Incoming Kindergarten Parents are invited to Join Mrs. Amann, the Kindergarten Team, additional staff, and the Walled Lake Elementary PTA for an informational evening in Walled Lake Elementary school's Learning Commons. Our presentation will begin at 6pm.
