Leading to a Better Community
We believe that everyone is able to make a positive difference to the world around them. We can each volunteer our time, or donate our money, towards worthy causes. Our individual efforts are small, but they matter.
We can achieve even more when we bring people together. For over 100 years Altrusa clubs have collected members from varying occupations and lifestyles, all sharing an interest in community service.
We enjoy the friendship, fun and satisfaction that comes from working together for the benefit of others. Each club develops a program that is tailored to local needs, undertaking a variety of hands-on service and fundraising projects each year. One of our shared goals as an organization is to improve literacy, which we believe is the key to opportunity.
Through Altrusa activities we develop our leadership skills in a supportive environment. We welcome new ideas and aim to provide enough flexibility so that our members can give their time in a way that works for them.
Message from the Club President
As we delve into the heart of summer, July emerges as a month brimming with significance and opportunity. Whether you're soaking in the sunshine or reflecting on historical milestones, there's something special about this time of year that resonates with all of us.
At the forefront of July festivities is Independence Day, a cornerstone of American heritage celebrated on the 4th of July. This day marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, embodying the spirit of freedom, unity, and resilience that continues to define our nation. Across the country, communities come together for parades, fireworks, and gatherings that remind us of the sacrifices made and the values we hold dear.
July also signifies the peak of summer, inviting us to embrace the outdoors and revel in nature's bounty. It's a time for picnics in the park, lazy days at the beach, and exploring the great outdoors with family and friends. As we savor the warmth of the season, July serves as a reminder to cherish these moments of relaxation and rejuvenation.
As Altrusans, we are committed to fostering a spirit of unity and empowerment throughout the year. This July, let us embrace the values of independence, unity, and reflection that define this special month. Together, we can continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and build a brighter future for all.
Wishing you a July filled with joy, inspiration, and moments of connection.
Yours in Service,
Michelle Bell
