ELC/PC Hold Practice - Wednesday, January 21, 2026

Dear K-2 Families,

I want to inform you about an important safety drill scheduled for Wednesday, January 21st. The purpose of this drill is to practice one of our emergency procedures designed to keep everyone in our building safe.

A HOLD means we need to keep students and staff in classrooms and in the building. Doors are locked but teaching and learning continue. Situations for a HOLD may include a medical emergency in our school needing the hallways clear, a student needing privacy to manage strong emotions, law enforcement presence in the building, or an external threat in our community.

Thank you in advance for reiterating that school is a safe place and if your child ever has a concern, they should share that with a trusted adult. As always, if you have any questions or need further information, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or Katie Hardyman, K-2 Dean of Students.

With Viking Pride,

Rachael Johnson

K-2 Principal

Around the World in 80 Trays!

We will be celebrating Around the World in 80 Trays January 20-23 in all cafeterias.

Around the World in 80 Trays is a state-wide event with the purpose of increasing global flavors in USDA School Meals Programs! We would like to acknowledge that food can do more than just nourish the body, but it can offer an invitation to explore the diverse cultures of Wisconsin students.

The menu items we will feature will all be sides so the students who take lunch that day can have just a taste or a full portion if they would like. These are the menu items we will be having next week:

Tuesday - Carrot Slaw - Sonoran Desert

Wednesday - Three Sisters Salad - Oneida Nation of WI

Thursday - Kid Kimchi - Korea

Friday - Pasul - Albania
